Memorable Family Friendly Tour
Diana is a fantastic tour guide! We highly recommend her. We loved the boat tour, games, axolotl sanctuary visit, and plants visit. Our son was especially obsessed with his axolotl craft project! Don't sleep on this tour especially if you are traveling with kids.
Response from the operator: Hola! Muchas gracias for such a nice review, I love the Xochimilco boat ride with kids and I'm thrilled to know that you and your family had a good time. Thank you for coming on board, see you next time! Diana

Great Experience
Our family took this tour w Diana as our guide and Jose as the oarsman. Diana kept our kids engaged and the axelots were the highlight of the tour. The Pier was also a perfect location. If you have kids 3-10 years of age, could not recommend the tour enough to avoid the party boats.
Response from the operator: Hola William, Thank you so much for leaving a review about your experience on the tour. It was a pleasure for me to share the beauty of Xochimilco with your family and I'm really happy that your girls enjoyed seeing the Axolotls. See you next time! Diana

Perfect for young kids
Absolutely amazing tour! If you have kids then this is the right tour to choose. Diana and Jose were great hosts. Absolutely perfect with young kinds (4 and 6) in our case. We learned a lot and loved the two stops to see the farm and Axolotls. We went early at 10am which I’d recommend, before the party boats get going.

A perfect kid friendly way to enjoy Xochimilco!
Don’t hesitate - if you are coming with kids, book this tour!!! Since we were traveling with a 4 year old, we did a lot of kid-friendly tours while in Mexico City and this was by far our favorite. Diana, our tour guide, was outstanding. She paced it super well and the game and painting activity kept our girl engaged and entertained while we could enjoy the ride. We also enjoyed our stops to see axolotls and the floating gardens. It was the perfect amount of time and our 4 year old’s favorite activity of our week long trip! We did it on a Saturday but started at 9 before the party boats are out and it felt like we had the canals to ourselves. I highly recommend this tour and having Diana as your tour guide!

Our son enjoyed the games and crafts and we had a very memorable and relaxing journey. Five stars and highly recommend if you have kids.
Response from the operator: Hola Rob, Thank you so much for your review. It makes me happy to know that your family enjoyed the tour. Hope to see you next time! Diana.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids cost?
+
Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids take?
+
Plan for about 2.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Xochimilco Boat Ride with Kids start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
