Lion Rock
Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress and palace built by King Kashyapa during the reign of 473 – 495 which is standing majestically 660 feet straight up. It is located in the northern Matale district near the town of Dambulla in central province of Sri Lanka. The word Sigiriya or the Sinhagiri means the Lion’s Rock where you have to climb up 1200 steps before you reach the Lion Rock Fortress on top of Sigiriya. There are several platforms that break up the steps and allow for a little break if you need it. Today Sigiriya rock fortress is one of the most famous Archeological Treasure and UNESCO named Sigiriya rock as a World Heritage in 1982 under the name “Ancient City of Sigiriya Sri Lanka”.

Pidurangala Royal Cave Temple
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress might be stealing the show as a must-visit destination in Sri Lanka but the Pidurangala Rock, located just 2.5 km north of it, comes in as a close second; possibly offering even more panoramic views than its counterpart! It is a hidden gem now slowly gaining popularity thanks to the cult of growing Instagram influencers who have sealed the site’s fate, as one of the most scenic spots in the region. However, Pidurangala Rock also lays claim to its own fascinating history. This is closely tied to that of the Lion Rock aka the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and the king who made it his royal abode.

Bahirawa Kanda temple is very famous tourist attraction in Kandy. The omnipresent statue can be seen from almost everywhere in Kandy city. The importance of the statue of Lord Buddha here is, it is the second largest sitting statue in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, my smartphone camera was not good enough to capture the sight of the statue down from Kandy city.

Nanu Oya railway station
Sri Lanka is a rather small island that is easy to get around with a nice train system connecting big cities. If you are after a short, fantastic train trip in this country, the travels between Ella and Nanu Oya (approximately 8 km outside of Nuwara Eliya) are the best options. Considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful train trips, the ride from Nanuoya to Ella is very popular among locals and tourists, and it usually gets fully booked on weekends. Though the distance is about 65 km, the train trip may take 2,5 – 3 hours as it has to cross over several mountains and pass some towns stopping to pick up more passengers. But the breathtaking landscapes along the way will make your time on train full of awesome feelings. You will glide through stunning views of green lush tea plantations, mountain ranges, then woodland forests and multiple tunnels. Engaging in a conversation with the friendly locals on board with you is also a joy during your train trip

Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya was truly a magical stop in Sri Lanka. It was emerald green tea leaves for days, Lake. Flower Garden, and quaint colonial buildings which made me feel like I was at home in the UK. You can tell why they call it Sri Lanka’s little England as soon as you arrive. The weather is freezing, it rains more often than not and there are tonnes of Colonial-style buildings dotted all over the place. Even the tea plantations are named after English cities and counties! I was lucky enough to land in Nuwara Eliya on a super warm and clear day which was quite rare in October.

Ravana Ella Falls
The falls have been named after the legendary king Ravana, who is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to legend, it is said that Ravana (who was the king of Lanka at the time) had kidnapped princess Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind this waterfall, now simply known as the Ravana Ella Cave. The reason for the kidnapping is said to be exact revenge for slicing off the nose of his sister by Rama (husband of Sita) and his brother Laxmana. At the time, the cave was surrounded by thick forests in the midst of the wilderness. It is also believed that Rama's queen bathed in a pool that accumulated the water falling from this waterfall.

An Interesting Spectacle Once at the summit, you’ll be in awe when you reach this natural wonder. Be amazed when the water shoots to the sky and splashes back into the ocean, having sprayed all the wide-eyed wanderers standing by. The fort has a colourful history, and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population.[2][3][4] The Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world.[4][5] The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv, for its unique exposition of "an urban ensemble which illustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditions from the 16th to the 19th centuries."[3] The Galle Fort, also known as the Dutch Fort or the "Ramparts of Galle", withstood the Boxing Day tsunami which damaged part of coastal area Galle town. Hidden amongst the trees of the Unawatuna rainforests and yet visible across the water from the historic Galle Fort in the Bay of Galle is the “Sama Ceitya”, one of four Japanese Peace Pagodas that can be found in Sri Lanka. Situated on Rummasala Hill, it was built with the assistance of Japanese Buddhist monks in 2005 as part of a plan to build temples of peace in conflict zones. Today, it acts as a symbol of peace for the Buddhist-majority country of Sri Lanka, but its clean, rounded design is intended to represent harmony between people of any and all backgrounds. The immense white stupa that rises out of the Japanese Peace Pagoda is surrounded by statues painted in gold, while a nearby flight of stairs leads to a walkway that goes around the shrine, offering breath-taking views of the jungle, the sea, and the stunning Galle Fort. When stopping by the Peace Pagoda, visitors should ensure that they are dressed modestly and respectfully; legs and shoulders need to be covered.

Amazing tour in heaven
Our very first trip to Sri Lanka was nothing short of magical, and we owe so much of that to our incredible guide, Gagana. Exploring the stunning landscapes and vibrant cities during our round tour was a dream, but it was Gagana’s kindness and gentlemanly nature that truly made the experience special. He turned every stop into a lesson in culture and history, making this beautiful country feel familiar and welcoming to us from day one. We didn’t just see Sri Lanka. we felt its heart. It was a truly memorable tour that we will cherish forever...

Wonderful in every way! Driver and guide Gagana really made this trip special with super safe driving, on time, knowledgeable, flexible, funny and a true Sri Lanka expert. He loves his country and proudly showed us all the highlights. Car was nice and we benefited from his network and friends everywhere we went. A great mix of beautiful nature, cultural sights as well as good (safe!) food and washrooms. We (three generations, three ladies☺️) will always remember Gagana and his great island😍

Around Sri Lanka with knowledgable driver Gagana
We had an unforgettable journey through Sri Lanka, made even more special thanks to our amazing driver, Gagana. He took us to beautiful places, introduced us to wonderful local restaurants, and ensured we experienced the true spirit of the country. The highlight of our trip was a deeply memorable moment when my husband and I received a blessing from a monk — a truly spiritual experience that Gagana personally arranged for us. We are so grateful for his kindness, knowledge, and care throughout our travels. Thank you, Gagana, for making our Sri Lanka adventure so incredible. We will cherish these memories forever!

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negombo.
How much does Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours cost?
+
Prices start at $490 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negombo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours take?
+
Plan for about 336 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negombo is not rushed.
Is Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negombo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 336-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negombo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negombo and add a light layer if any part of the 336-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wonderful Srilankan 14 Days Tours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negombo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Negombo?
+
On Outty we rank every Negombo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Car & Driver for 07 Days Tour In Sri Lanka, Most Popular Round Tour in Sri Lanka (10 Days), Highly recommended multi day tour in Sri Lanka. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Negombo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Negombo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
