Terrible experience! Awful staff.
Run for the hills, the staff are very rude and really own seem to care about money, not your experience. They tried to overcharge for the wine, and knowing our family had already been here, we found out. The place is very dirty outside and such a wierd vibe to it. The female staff member was pointing at our child whilst we were wine tasting here because she was crying. So rude. Please don't give this place your business and becarful they are not to be trusted. You only have to look at the bad reviews to see this for yourself ! Terrible place and terrible people.

Great tapas for wine tasting experience.
We enjoyed the Savour and Sip gastronomic experience hugely. Joao led the session, talking very knowledgeably and with great humour about each of the wines. The two Spanish chefs prepared a tapas course to go with each wine , which were perfectly complimentary. They were also incredibly attentive to one of our party’s dietary needs with imaginative variations to meet her dairy intolerance. We had a baby with us and, whilst this was an adult experience, she was welcomed by all. There were about 15 people at the experience, from a variety nationalities, all of whom seemed to enjoy the experience. We drove over from Carvoeiro, and left our car there to pick up the following day, so that we could all enjoy the wine. The taxi back was only 20€ so well worth it. Definitely one to recommend!

Wow! A wonderfully different day.
Knowing the central Algarve well, we were looking for something different to enjoy. What a marvellous experience. We initially visited for a look round but the place is so peaceful and beautiful that we opted for a tour in the afternoon, beginning at 2:00 p.m. We were shown round by a brilliant young man by the name of Delfim. We were told about the vines and shown round the processing area. This was followed by a wine tasting of four wines, all of which were fabulous. Delfim was very informative and spoke extremely good English, which helped us a lot! The vineyard also has accommodation, in which we will be very interested for next year when we re-visit with our daughters. The wines were so excellent that we have brought a few bottles to take home to the U.K. We definitely recommend this day out and will return another time. The cost of the tour was around €36 each, including the wines. It is open free to the public to walk round, should you wish but allow yourself to be tempted in the tour!

Worth the art not the wine
This is a very unique place but you don’t go there for the wine…wines is very average but the grounds are interesting and worth spending an hour simply walking around. Wine people dont go there for good wine. Art people go there and see outdoor works of art.

Well worth a visit, not least for the sculpture
Very informative short tour in a group of about 20, with a knowledgeable guide who enjoyed taking questions. The cellar steps weren't disability-friendly. Followed by tasting of 4 wines, with good descriptions. Good value for a 90 min tour. After the tour, I checked out the full range of wines in the shop, and was cheerfully also offered a tasting measure of the particular wine I fancied buying.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wine Tasting and Art Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portimao.
How much does Wine Tasting and Art Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $36 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portimao usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wine Tasting and Art Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portimao is not rushed.
Is Wine Tasting and Art Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Portimao, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wine Tasting and Art Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wine Tasting and Art Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Wine Tasting and Art Tour?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portimao can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portimao and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wine Tasting and Art Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portimao within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Portimao?
+
On Outty we rank every Portimao experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Exclusive Small Group Kayak Tour to Benagil Caves with 4K Photos, Kayak tour to Benagil Cave and guided by local native, Boat Trip to the Benagil Caves from Armação de Pêra. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Portimao?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Portimao?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
