Fun Outting with Great Wine
A great experience with a very knowledgeable host
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! 🍷 As a family-owned wine bar, nothing is more rewarding than sharing our passion for winemaking with our guests. For us, every tasting is a personal journey through Bulgaria's unique terroir—the special harmony of soil, sun, and local traditions. We love introducing visitors to our rare indigenous (local) grape varieties and the stories of the independent, small-batch winemakers behind them. Cheers!

Very enjoyable but on the pricey side
The person who gave us the talk and explained everything about Bulgarian wine making was very knowledgeable and answered our questions confidently. The 5 wines we tasted were all good and the tapas was very nice. The tapas consisted of a locally made soda bread with oil to dip, local sheep and goats cheese and a locally made salami which was very tasty 😋 The venue was small but cosy and the toilet was extremely clean. The only downside, which explains the 4 stars is the fact that compared to other trips we did in Bulgaria we felt this one was overpriced for what you actually received.
Response from the operator: Dear Sharron, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your "Wine and Tapas" experience with us. We are thrilled to hear that you found our host knowledgeable and that you enjoyed the selection of five Bulgarian wines. It is wonderful to know that our locally sourced artisanal products—the soda bread, the cheeses, and the traditional salami—left a tasty impression! We also appreciate your kind words about the cozy atmosphere and the cleanliness of our venue, as we strive to maintain high standards for all our guests. Regarding your comment on the pricing, we truly value your honesty. We would like to mention that our tastings focus exclusively on limited-series wines from small, boutique Bulgarian producers, which are often rare and carry a higher cost due to their artisanal nature. The same applies to our tapas, which we carefully source from local farmers to ensure the most authentic quality. However, we take your feedback seriously as we are always looking for ways to balance premium quality with great value. We hope that the insights you gained into the rich history of Bulgarian winemaking added a unique dimension to your trip. It was a pleasure having you at Vineria, and we would love to welcome you back next time you are in Sofia! Warm regards, The Vineria Team

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sofia.
How much does Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $33 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sofia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sofia is not rushed.
Is Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sofia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sofia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sofia and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wine and Tapas Boutique Bulgarian Wine Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sofia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sofia?
+
On Outty we rank every Sofia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communist Walking Tour of Sofia, Sofia Highlights 2 Hour Sightseeing Walking Tour, Sofia Escape Room - Teorema Rooms. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sofia?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sofia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
