Just wow. THE best personalized experience we have had. Highly recommend

If I could give this a 10 star, I would. Ignacio had a very comfortable Mercedes that ONLY had us 4, though the max size of the group was 8. I have had past experiences in which the tour was cancelled if it did not need the minimum number of people, but in this case he did the tour anyway. The places he took us the restaurants he chose, and the very personalized experience we got cannot be duplicated.Ignacio took care of explaining everything that we were seeing and gave us a very detailed understanding of the wine, making process and the history of Spain. At the winery that he took us the winery owner gave us a full tour, including a tour of the cellars that were hundreds of years old. Ignacio has a very good relationship with the owner who only spoke Spanish so Ignacio translated everything that the owner was saying for our ease of understanding. Not only did we get some of the best wines that we tasted, but the owner also opened a very old vintage so we could taste the true spirit of the land. The wine was so good that we ended up buying a case to be shipped back to us in the United States. The other part of the experience was going to a castle more than 1000 years old and the windmills that’s around it since it was just the four of us. It was such a personal experience With detail history and very patient answering of our questions. I would highly highly recommend this tour cause the perfect ending was him opening a bottle of wine for us at the top of the hills under the windmills for a wonderful experience.Ignacio also took several pictures on his phone that he is going to send us and also took any pictures on our phones that we asked him to. Very personable and nice guide with a deep understanding of the history and culture of Spain.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review. We felt very comfortable with you. We hope to see you again in the future. Un abrazo

    Wine, Clay Pots and More!

Ignacio was an excellent tour guide. He was knowledgeable, accommodating and fun! He took us to the most interesting family owned winery. They ferment the red wine in giant clay pots. Everything about this winery was charming and it was obvious that wine making was a labor of love for this 5th generation wine making family. After that we were supposed to go to a plaza and it was closed, so he took us to a restaurant that had caves and more clay pots that had been autographed by thousands of famous people. Then off to see the windmills and a castle/fort. We ended the tour with another glass of wine. Ignacio is an incredible host! Book with Ignacio. You’ll be glad you did!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your comment. We do these types of tours because we love to show off Spain over a glass of wine and meet people of your quality. If you come back here, you'll know where we are. Un abrazo.

A perfect day in the country side away from Madrid.

One of the best excursions we’ve done with Viator to date. Each part was excellent from the winery which included a visit to the caves used to store the wine, to the Cervantes Museum, to the famous Windmills. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided information in a entertaining and fun way.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback. We hope to see you in the future. Un abrazo

Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid cost?

    +

Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 89 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid?

    +

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Windmills of Don Quixote Wine Tour & Tasting from Madrid start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
