Go and have a great day with a good tour of a great tourist attraction told by exceptional guides.

My name is Jennifer Morrell and I and my brother went here last year when we were on holiday in Krakow. We went on a Saturday and the place was packed but it was worth the wait to get in and when we got in our guide was great and so very informative and the tour was worth every minute of it from start to finish. I apologise for only giving my review now as the last couple of months since our visit have been v busy with work for both of us. Many thanks for a superb visit(even though it's nearly a year) Jennifer and Robert Morrell

Astounding place but you need to be quite fit.

The trip was very well organised. Picked up arranged, taken to start of tour and handed over to guide. The guide was leading around 35 people but we all had transmitters and headsets so we could hear what was being said. I have to say I got a bit giddy going down so many flights of stairs at the beginning (40 to start with) and I think if you were a bit claustrophobic you may struggle - I felt a bit queasy as if I was car sick which was strange. However the whole place was astounding and we only saw a small percent of it. There are souvenir shops, toilets and cafes down below and a lift to bring you out but there was quite a walk to the lift as we came out of a different shaft to the one we went in. The pictures I took don't do it justice but there are others on the site that do. Not sure little kids enjoyed it as nothing interactive. Overall I think its worth the visit - took about 2 and a half hours and that was without looking at the museum.

    Impressive place. Cracow...

Impressive place. Cracow time were very hospitable. Lots of walking though so be prepared to walk down around 500 stairs!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! There are a lot of stairs in the salt mine, but it's worth it! See you again!

Definitely a place to visit when staying in Krakow

Only 25 minutes from the centre of Krakow, and you come to this amazing place. The history of the Salt Mines is so interesting and well worth a visit. We were pre-booked from the UK with a company who picked up from various hotels and drove directly there. This is recommended as the queue was long for people not pre-booked, and we were in and tour started within 10 mins of arriving. Our guide was good, and efficient. The salt chambers are an impressive sight to see. You do need to have good mobility however, the first flights of stairs descend to 54 levels! Then you go further down later. Part of our tour included getting the lift back up - so check you have this included. Otherwise, it's the stairs! There are opportunities for breaks with coffee and toilet stops. Its roughly 2 hours from start to finish. We did not visit the museum as we were constrained by a time for getting back to our minibus - so allow longer, and further walking if you want to include the museum as part of your visit.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! The salt mine is truly beautiful and worth a visit! Everyone is welcome to visit the Salt Mine Museum and Salt Mine Castle!

Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.

How much does Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.

Is Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Wieliczka Saltmine Fully Guided Tour Hotel Pick up start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Krakow?

    +

On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krakow?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krakow?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
