I can not recommend this company enough!! I have to admit the white water tubing was a little scary and the guides were absolutely incredible!!! They take safety very seriously and we felt SO safe doing all of the activities! Our guides were Ever/manuel/kevin/junior and jordi and they were all AMAZING!!! The admin team were also fantastic in communicating ahead of time on WhatsApp!!! Very professional! If you are considering doing these activities in Costa Rica you HAVE to book with this incredible team!!! Thank you for such an incredible experience and amazing memories!!!

Tubing in Arenal

Had a great time tubing. The river was fast flowing, but Fil, Eric and Manuel made sure that we were safe and had a great time. The scenery was great too. I would definitely recommend.

Exciting and fun--guides are great. (wouldn't rec for young kids or elders)

This was an exciting and fun adventure. WARNING! It's not a lazy river--there are major rapids! The guides were so great about preparing us and supporting us through the river. Go for the photos as we received dozens of pictures of our adventure. More details; you will ride in an open trailer with handles and may see birds or even monkeys on the drive. The hike in is short but down a hill so you need to be in good enough shape to balance holding a tube in and out of the river. The water current is strong and there are multiple "stop, get out, stand up" in the flowing river.

DO NOT BOOK THEY LIE ABOUT PRICES.

I had a really frustrating experience with Go Adventure Arenal Park, specifically with Reynaldo, on April 22. Before visiting, I reached out via WhatsApp to ask about pricing for a group of four, and I was clearly told the cost would be $60 per person. There was absolutely no mention of that price being cash-only or any difference if paying by card. However, when I arrived, Reynaldo told me that price didn’t apply if I paid by card because of taxes and machine fees. This was never disclosed beforehand, which felt misleading. Like most people nowadays, I didn’t have cash on hand, and instead of trying to find a reasonable solution, he became visibly upset when I brought up the price I had been quoted. To make matters worse, he ultimately refused to honor the agreed price and wouldn’t even let me go tubing. The whole interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessarily confrontational. Just so you guys see how stingy and unprofessional this business is the difference was 5$ per person, btw totally unprofessional! It’s not the amount it’s the principal ! I strongly recommend that anyone booking here stay away and if you do go double-check all details in writing, especially regarding payment methods and final pricing. Based on my experience, they do not honor the prices they quote and communication is inconsistent at best. I do want to add that the group that brought us out on to the tubes was amazing ! They are such an amazing people! Can’t remember their names but they were just amazing all of them kept us safe and secure during the tubing adventure ! They are the only reason I’d ever book again!

Tubing was the absolute best experience!

We booked the tubing tour with Freddy Campos which was with The Go Adventure Team. We had Luis, Kevin, Jordy and Yasser and what a fabulous team! We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to the office where we stripped down to our swimmers and then took by trailer to the rapids visiting the Maleku village. After a quick safety talk we were in the water….the heavy rainfall meant they were pretty fast running and wow what fun we had! Don’t take anything with you that you are not prepared to lose….my husband has his Garmin watch ripped from his wrist but didn’t notice until the end! The boys were experienced and although it was all about the fun they only had our safety first! We would all recommend this experience! Thank you boys 😆💦🔵

White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Alajuela.

How much does White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools cost?

+

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Alajuela usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Alajuela is not rushed.

Is White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Alajuela, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools?

+

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Alajuela can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Alajuela and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does White water Tubing + Indigenous culture + FREE Thermal pools start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Alajuela within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Alajuela?

+

On Outty we rank every Alajuela experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Arenal Volcano Full-Day Combo Tour with Lunch and Dinner, Arenal Volcano Experience Full-Day Tour from San Jose, Manuel Antonio National Park Sightseeing and Wildlife Day Tour from San Jose. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Alajuela?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Alajuela?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
