Super fun, and highly recommended.

I booked the Bird Watching tour in Mindo Valley and the White-Water Rafting experience in Baños through the Ecuador Best Tours website. The process was easy and convenient. For both tours, our guide was Carlos, and he was fantastic. He was punctual, knowledgeable, easygoing, and so much fun to be around. I asked him countless questions throughout the journey, and he answered every one of them patiently. We had such a great time exploring both Mindo Valley and Baños with him. Carlos’s driving was safe and comfortable, and his car was well-maintained, neat, and super clean. Overall, I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend both Ecuador Best Tours and Carlos as a guide.

Response from the operator: Dear friends, thank you so much for trusting on our quality-services, it was a pleasure having you all in Ecuador!!

Exciting Amazon trip!

We had an unforgettable day, which started with our guide Luis picking us up very punctually from our hotel. We then drove to Banos, at the upper Amazon region. There was a small delay in getting to the Whitewater rafting site, because of an unavoidable rock slide. This was cleared up, relatively quickly, and our local guides, William and Edwin, made the most of the time by showing us a local store where sugarcane candy was made, and we were able to see the process. When we got to the Whitewater rafting area, we were given all our equipment, and felt very confident that William and Edwin would take good care of us. The rafting was amazing, going through a beautiful valley in the Amazon. There were waterfalls and beautiful, vegetation all around. It felt almost unreal. The white water rafting itself was exciting, and due to rain was almost a class five at points. However, we felt safe the whole time with Edwin in a kayak, guiding our boat, and William steering Edwin was even able to take some amazing videos and pictures which they sent to us with no extra charge. We then had a delicious local lunch, and our guide Luis picked us up again. To make up for the small amount of last time, Luis extended our trip, which was very much appreciated. We then went to the Avenue of the waterfalls, where we saw beautiful waterfalls, and crossed some exciting suspension bridges to get there. We then took an extremely high gondola across the valley, with a spectacular view. Once across the valley, Luis took us on a walk, explaining the life of the indigenous people there, as well as showing us the local vegetation. It was really interesting! We had a great day, and only wished we could’ve stayed longer. Luis was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful, everything a guide should be. We highly recommend this trip if you’d like to mix a little adventure with your exploration..

Response from the operator: Dear friends, Thank you very much for sharing with future travelers your unforgettable experience on your white-water-river rafting tour!!! It was our pleasure. We all wish you the best in the future, Kind regards,

Exciting Amazon trip!

Our guide, Luis, picked us up right on time in a nice and clean vehicle with area in the back for our valuables like cameras and phones to be stowed. We had an unavoidable delay getting to the rafting site from Banos due to a rock slide, but our local tour guides made the most of the time by showing us a local site where sugarcane candy is made, and how they make it. The Whitewater rafting itself was exciting, with class five rapids. The environment was beautiful, and it felt very unreal. The surrounding mountains and vegetation looked beautiful. The local guides, William and Edwin, kept us safe and helped us to enjoy this experience to the maximum. Edwin was even able to take videos and photographs of the experience from a kayak that accompanied us for safety. After White water rafting, we had a delicious local lunch, and then Luis picked us up again. He extended our experience to make up for any delay from earlier. We went on a short but beautiful hike to the devil’s cauldron waterfall, and saw several other waterfalls along the valley. The suspension bridges to the waterfalls were amazing! We then took a gondola across the valley, which was breathraking. Luis took us on a nature hike, showing us how the indigenous people live. It was definitely a highlight of our trip, and a great way to get a flavor for the upper Amazon.

Response from the operator: Dear guests, Thank you very much for coming to Ecuador!! We are very glad to know you loved your trip into the Upper Amazon basins on a boat!!! All our team is very professional, and always they do their best to make our new friends having great memories... Thank you for sharing with us your beautiful experience with them!! Kind regards, Your Ecuadorian friends,

White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito cost?

+

Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does White Water River Rafting Day Trip from Quito start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

+

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
