Amazing scenic tour!
Such a bucket list experience, the weather was amazing for sunrise and the Fjords looked beautiful, we saw humpbacks and killer whales and it was so so amazing! Bus transfer from Tromso was also good, early start!

10000/10 experience!
This was truly most of the most incredible experiences of my life. I’ve seen Humpback whales before in Iceland and off the west coast of Mexico but this experience I won’t forget. The scenery, the landscape, the Orcas and Humpbacks and our skipper was fantastic! A lovely lovely girl who loved it as much as we did! It was 100% worth every penny. The wool clothing the gave to us to layer up on was perfect. Really did help massively.

Amazing
So many whales couldn’t even count the number we were able to see. Definitely recommend this tour when in Tromso

Impressive nature, uneven organisation
This tour promises an exceptional whale-watching experience, but in reality it felt more like a logistical operation than a carefully guided adventure. After a four-hour bus ride from to with no breaks, we arrived to stressed guides who passed that pressure directly on to the group. Suit distribution and safety instructions were rushed, rough, and lacked warmth — not the first impression one expects on a long, high-priced tour. The RIB excursion itself was good: stunning Arctic scenery and orcas in the wild. However, going further out made the schedule tight, resulting in a very fast and uncomfortable return. Because of delays, everything afterward felt hurried again — changing, eating, and boarding the bus. The food offering was minimal and carelessly presented, which felt inadequate given the duration and price of the tour. Communication was also lacking, as we were not informed when the bus was ready, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. In the end, the nature and wildlife were outstanding, but the overall organisation fell short. With better pacing, clearer communication, and a more guest-focused approach, this tour could live up to the incredible environment it operates in.

Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.
How much does Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy) cost?
+
Prices start at $3700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy) take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.
Is Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 130 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy) suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy)?
+
Around 46 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Whale Watching RIB Experience (With Transfer Tromso-Skjervoy) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tromso?
+
On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Big Bus Chase with Chasing Lights, Northern Lights Minibus Chase from Tromsø with Chasing Lights, Tromsø Northern Lights Chase We Go Where The Lights Appear. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tromso?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tromso?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
