whale Watching / Morning 8:15 During this activity, you will have the opportunity to observe some of the more than 25 species of cetaceans that can be found in the Azores. We guarantee the observation of cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and usually observe turtles, birds and other marine species. We always count on the presence of a biologist aboard to provide an explanation on the species, the safety rules and the importance of respect for animals. Isle of the Goats / afternoon 14:15 Tour to the Ilhéus das Cabras, a spectacular visit made in the Boat with glass background to be able to observe everything that goes underwater, for the most fearless we have the snorkeling where we go to the Cave of the Rat (a kind of rail) and spend a slit of the Ilhéu where the memories become unforgettable

    Fantastic, we love it!

Fantastic! Super friendly and attentive staff. Without care and attention, we were a couple and our 5 year old son. They were always super gentle and attentive to our son so that everything went well. Including snorkeling. No doubt I recommend, 5* tour with dolphins and whales.

A spectacular day, with a good atmosphere and lots of cetaceans.

The team in general was very friendly and gave us many options, and checked the sea and weather conditions to make the activity enjoyable. Thank you very much to the entire team.

    Excellent experience

The tour was well organized and the staff were friendly and ready to answer any questions. The only flaw of the excursion was that we didn't spot any whales, but that happens when you come into contact with species in their habitat. Absolutely recommended!

    A special experience

We had an amazing experience with Water4Fun. The title of this review says Island Goats but we did the Whale Watching and Volcano tour; broken into two outings. Whale Watching was fun and the boat was full. No whales (it was February) but plenty of dolphins. The captain and Crew were fun and informative. The other couple we were with were exhausted after the whale watching and weren't up to coming back same day for the volcano/island tour. I called and Water4Fun was happy to reschedule us for the next day. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES ON THE BOAT!!! and They were still happy to go out. We had our own private tour. Water4Fun is amazing and we highly recommend you call them for all of your excursions. We had wanted to go rzr riding through the country and they hooked us up with someone else on the island. All around great service!!!

Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Terceira.

How much does Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun cost?

    +

Prices start at $121 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Terceira usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Terceira is not rushed.

Is Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Terceira, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Terceira can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Terceira and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Terceira within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Terceira?

    +

On Outty we rank every Terceira experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Underground Van Tour (Half Day) | Terceira Island, Private Terceira Island Full Day Tour, Island Van Tour (Full Day) | Terceira Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Terceira?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Terceira?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What happens to Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun if the weather is bad?

    +

It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Terceira. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.

What do travelers say about Whale Watching + Island Goats / Water4fun?

    +

Across 8 reviews averaging 5.0 out of 5, recurring themes include the guide, knowledge and storytelling. Travelers single out the guide as the reason the experience works.
