Marvel at treasures such as Flemish tapestries commissioned by King Sigismund II Augustus and Italian Renaissance masterpieces from the Lanckoroński collection. You will also see Wawel’s unique collection of Eastern art, including the largest set of Ottoman tents in Europe.

    2. Wawel Cathedral

The highlight of your visit is the Wawel Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece that has witnessed the coronations, weddings, and funerals of Polish monarchs. 3. Then as you stroll along the historic streets, you will pause by the Collegium Maius, the oldest building of the Jagiellonian University. Getting very frustrated with Viator

Booked a walking tour that in theory covered 3 places. The guide was good but after covering the Wawel Castle & the church, the guide ended the tour. I was a bit surprised but thought maybe I made a mistake. I walked around on my own for a while. Then I get a message that the guide for the “Old Town” tour is waiting for me. Apparently they broke this tour down to 2 parts with 2 different guides? I was never informed of this and consequently didn’t get the tour of Old Town. Stuff like this has happened before with Viator. TERRIBLE communication from the subcontractors.

Response from the operator: We’re truly sorry for the confusion and frustration caused by the way the tour was organized. The split between two guides should have been clearly communicated in advance, especially as it resulted in you missing the Old Town part. We understand your disappointment and sincerely apologize for the poor communication. We’ll address this with our team to prevent similar situations. Best regards, Patrycja

    St Mary’s Basilica explanation.

Guide was so knowledgeable about the area. Very impressed with her ability to explain everything in great detail. Enjoyed the conversation in the St Mary’s Basilica the most. Also shared her knowledge of the university which wasn’t expected when I asked about it.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krakow?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krakow?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
