    Insightful, good clear English

We had 2 guides, both excellent. As we speak English as a second language it is easier for us if the guide has less of an accent. Very clear communication from both and very interesting, fun day out.

    A little confusing

The tour was good, however it was not made clear that the St Mary tour was a different tour. Had Nina not called me and that we were still in town, we would have missed it. However Hanna was great and we enjoyed both tours.

    Krakow Overview

Great experience. We started as part of a group tour and then did a private city tour. Our guide Krzysztof was very knowledgeable as well as passionate about his subject. He was also easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this tour as a great overview of the main sights and history of Kraków’s Stare Miasto.

    A must tour!

I did not know what to expect on this tour and was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of these two locations. Our guide was exceptional! She not only knows so much history, but she made it very fun and humorous. The basilica is simply gorgeous and unique. I highly recommend this tour.

Yes - can't recommend highly enough!

This was an exciting and educational way to spend a day in Krakow. The overall experience was so enjoyable I couldn't recommend it more (and a great way to get your steps in for the day)! The admission fee was inexpensive compared to the two expert and professional guides we received. The two guides were so friendly and knowledgeable adding to the overall positive experience. Advantage of taking the tour was that the guide took our group past the huge/long lines at Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral and the guides were both experts in history of Poland and Krakow. There was only one hick up with the tour that was probably our fault more so than the tour operator - we did the Wawel Castle and Cathedral WITH St. Mary's Basilica tour. After our wonderful tour of Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral, the guide dismissed the group and we went on our way to lunch. We sat down to eat a late lunch when the tour operator called to remind us that we had also booked the St. Mary's Basilica tour. The earlier tour had been so great we totally forgot about the St. Mary's part. We rushed back to the meeting point where we met a new 2nd guide. It was at that point that we basically had a private walking tour with another couple of St. Mary's Basilica and Old Town Krakow. Point being, if you sign up for both Wawel Castle and Cathedral and St. Mary Basilica it's important you make sure you understand about the 2nd half of the day.

Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.

How much does Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.

Is Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Wawel Castle and Cathedral with St Mary Basilica tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Krakow?

    +

On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Krakow?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Krakow?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
