Amazing views and nature...
Amazing views and stunning scenery around the lake and the mountains. The boat trip is definitely worth doing as well. Dee is a fantastic tour guide—knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable. Although it's a long drive, the breathtaking landscapes along the way make the journey worthwhile. Highly recommended!

This hotel is way past it's prime
The rooms are old, dated and small with worn out furniture. The bathroom was small, so the sink was in the bathroom. Our room had two connecting doors. One had a large gap into the next room. When we arrived there was no staff to help us get our luggage from the car to the lobby.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear the Prince of Wales Hotel did not meet your expectations. As a historic property, it offers a unique heritage experience, but we understand that aspects of the rooms and facilities may not suit every guest. We also apologize for the inconvenience regarding luggage assistance upon arrival. Your comments are appreciated and will be shared with the hotel management for their consideration.

Booked, paid and drove for a couple of hours, but operator didn't show!
Despite booking, paying and receiving confirmation of my trip, the host did not arrive at the pick up point. As a visitor to Calgary I had set aside one of the few precious days I had available for this trip, had a friend drive an hour each way to drop me at the obscure starting point on the edge of the city at 7am. When we eventually tracked down the provider, they apologized due to family circumstances and offered a refund. I felt that was an insult and fails to recognize their responsibility as a business to deliver, or the cost and inconvenience to me. If I cancelled late it would have cost the entire trip cost (over $200), but if they don't show it costs them nothing other than refunding for the service they didn't provide. I suspect this is a small operator with no contingency should something go wrong and I don't feel this is acceptable.
Response from the operator: Hello Owai, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about the experience you described. After carefully reviewing our records, we were unable to locate your name or any booking details that match the trip you mentioned. In addition, the information provided in your review does not align with our Day Trip to Waterton Lakes NP, Prince of Wales Hotel from Calgary product, based on the following: 1.This tour operates from May 1, 2025 to October 11, 2025. 2. Our last confirmed booking for this product was on September 27, 2025. 3. The price of this tour during the 2025 season was $143.85, not over $200. Given these discrepancies, it appears that your review may have been posted on the wrong product listing. If you believe there has been a misunderstanding or if you have additional details (confirmation number, date of travel, or the operator name listed on your ticket), please feel free to contact us directly. We would be more than happy to assist in clarifying the situation. Thank you. Kind regads, The Westar Travel Team

It was an amazing first trip for everyone. Learning the history if the place. Thinking of planning another trip in 2026.

We loved them both. Westar has very good guides. They know their stuff. They give us all the informations we want.
Both tours done with Westar where great. Bryce that was with us to the lake, was one of the best guides we have had. For the tour in Waterton I do not remember his name, was very good .

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Calgary.
How much does Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls cost?
+
Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Calgary usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Calgary is not rushed.
Is Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Calgary, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Calgary can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Calgary and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Waterton National Park : Prince of Wales Hotel & Cameron Falls start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Calgary within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Calgary?
+
On Outty we rank every Calgary experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Explore Banff National Park Premium Day Trip, Discover Banff National Park - Premium Day Trip, Day of Dinosaurs & Hoodoos from Calgary to Drumheller Badlands. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Calgary?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Calgary?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
