Challenging, but worth it!

This experience was incredible. I will admit that it took me out of my comfort zone quite a bit. Also, it was physically challenging. But I am so happy that my friends and I shared this experience. Our tour guide, Lomar, was excellent. He has so much knowledge and such a nice person. I learned a lot about Costa Rica. What an amazing experience. I would do it again 100%!

BEST TOUR EVER!

Lomar and Joaquin were amazing. Excellent tour. I would definitely do it again as long I had the both of them. They made a special trip with my daughter even more special. Lomar helped me overcome my fear of zip lining. Joaquin helped with rapelling. They both had a great sense of humor and love of nature. Together they know more about the plants, animals, trees and insects of the area than I could ever have expected. Now I can't wait to go again! They helped me get the most of out the tour even with my bum knee. They were also great about taking photos for us even when I forgot. Thank you both so much for an experience we will always remember with warmth and smiles. I would give you 20 stars if I could!

Fun Day!

This is the second time I've done this tour in the last few years and I would do it again! It is so beautiful and fun to hike the mountain and jump in the waterfalls. We did find some of the trail footing to be a bit challenging, but we were well supported throughout the trip. I really love hearing about the country and culture throughout the day - 5 stars!

Family Fun in the Falls!

We did the Explorer Tour. Before the tour began, we enjoyed a local meal of rice and chicken and plantain chips on banana leaves. The tour itself was very enjoyable, once we got to the water. There is a fairly steep path from the parking area to the stream, with some steps and railings. The remaining portion was rainforest trails. Our guide, Joaquin, pointed out several things along the trail. Once we got to the water, it was fun getting wet and swimming! Joaquin explained safety information at each of the waterfalls. He also helped us proceed upstream to each of the subsequent falls. The kids had a blast sliding down the rocks in the safe areas and even getting behind the falling water when we could. Joaquin did not rush us and let the kids have all the fun they could handle. At the final waterfall, there was a 20' deep pool, so there were places where you could jump in from 10' and even higher. There was a fairly steep, but well-maintained and wide, path to bring us back to the parking lot. A tough climb after all the playing we did in the waterfalls! For many in our group, they agreed this was one of the best adventures we had during our trip! Joaquin was a good guide and was definitely concerned with our safety and learning about the ecosystem at the same time.

Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaco.

How much does Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco cost?

+

Prices start at $214 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jaco is not rushed.

Is Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 61 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jaco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco?

+

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaco and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Waterfalls Adventure From Jaco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Jaco?

+

On Outty we rank every Jaco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall, Hot Springs Combo Tour with Lunch & Dinner, 3-Hour ATV Jungle Waterfall Adventure, Surf Lessons with Pro Team in Jacó. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jaco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jaco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
