Absolutely wonderful Vietnamese experience
Fantastic show! Our kids absolutely loved it and we did too. We couldn't believe the variety of puppets and the skills of the artists. Easy process too - we were met at the entrance by a nice man who spoke great English and given our tickets. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Dear Chelsey, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with us! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that both you and your children loved the Water Puppet Show. It is truly a unique Vietnamese art form, and our team works hard to make the ticketing and meeting process as smooth and welcoming as possible. Knowing that your family had a fantastic time in Ho Chi Minh City means the world to us. We hope to welcome you all back for more memorable adventures in the future! Warmest regards, Luc & Vietnam Tours VIP Team

Book direct with the theatre to get your choice of seat
This is a review of the service ‘provided’ by Viator not about the performance itself which was good.We were disappointed that the tickets we had paid for in advance hadn’t been purchased in advance for us and when they were purchased infront of us by the agent, only the very poor seats were left available as we had a pillar obscuring our view, and when we complained the only other seats available were at the very back. We would have bought the tickets direct from the theatre if we’d known and saved a lot of money. A lesson learnt that will hopefully help others looking to experience this show.
Response from the operator: Dear Pippa, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent booking through Viator. We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed the performance itself, as the Water Puppet Show is indeed a cultural highlight of our city. However, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by the seating arrangements and the booking process. We understand how frustrating it is to have your view obscured by a pillar, especially when booking in advance. Our goal is always to provide a seamless and premium experience for our guests. Your feedback is invaluable to us. We are currently reviewing our booking procedure with our local agents to ensure that tickets are secured earlier and that our guests receive the best possible seats available at the time of booking. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the high-quality service you should expect from us. Best regards, Luc & Vietnam Tours VIP Team

Super cute show!
The water puppet show was terrific. Fun and very interactive. You can either buy the ticket online or you can absolutely buy it in person right before the show, it's cheaper.

A great culturally experience. This was our second visit to the puppet show after 17 years!
This was a great experience and would recommend. We also used the transfer experience and Nhu was the best he looked after us so well. The venue is al little out of town so would recommend you use this service. He then organised our tickets photos and everything g we did t need to do a thing. The contact was all made before and on the day. Thanks so much Nhu.

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.
How much does Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre take?
+
Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.
Is Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Water Puppet Show At Golden Dragon Theatre start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
