    Informative and very interesting

I was reluctant to pick this tour because it had only one review. It was our last day in Vietnam and decided to take it. I am very glad I did. We saw several different locations regarding the Vietnam War that was not on any other tour. The guide was so informative. We learned many new things about the war. It ended with a delicious lunch. I highly recommend this tour and wish it could have been a little longer because there was so much to see and learn.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review and for giving our tour a chance despite having only a few reviews at the time. We're delighted to hear that the tour exceeded your expectations and provided unique insights into Vietnam's history. Our goal is to offer a deeper understanding of the events, places, and stories that shaped the country, and we're glad you found the experience both informative and engaging. We truly appreciate your trust in us and hope to welcome you back for more memorable experiences in Vietnam.

Keep an eye on your itinerary

The Independence Palace was very interesting but we nearly missed the best part of all, the Secret Weapons Cellar. Our guide Tiger was great, but the tour provider did not give him the same itinerary that is on the Viator site, and this attraction was left off his schedule. He made it right but if I had not been paying attention we would have missed it. the Viet Cong restaurant we were taken to had questionable hygiene and I wasn’t comfortable there. I didn't see much point to the visit. I loved ending the day at the Rex Hotel rooftop bar for a cocktail (drink not included)

Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re really glad to hear that you enjoyed your guide Tiger and the experience at the Rex Hotel rooftop—it’s definitely a great way to end the day. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the itinerary. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we will review this carefully with our team to ensure better consistency moving forward. We also appreciate your comments about the restaurant. The stop is actually a historical site, known as Pho Binh, which dates back to the wartime period. During the tour, we briefly visit this location and enjoy a traditional bowl of pho there as part of the experience. Thank you again for your honest feedback—it helps us improve, and we hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

    Great solo experience, very informative

Went on this tour alone and it exceeded my expectations. The guide was knowledgeable and very approachable, making the whole experience easy and enjoyable. I learned a lot about the city’s wartime history, and the lunch was a nice bonus. Felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of throughout the tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour. We hope to welcome you back again for more great experiences in Vietnam 😊

Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.

How much does Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights cost?

    +

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights take?

Is Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights?

Is Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights suitable for kids and families?

    +

How far in advance should I book Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Wartime Saigon Historical Tour with Lunch and Guided Insights start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
