What you get

    About this experience

Avoid morning crowds and join us on this late afternoon 1,5-hour tour, where in a small group of participants you will explore Diocletian’s Palace on foot: the UNESCO-listed, Roman–era landmark now forms the heart of the city. We will discover together how the palace of a Roman Emperor called Diocletian, became a heart of today's Split, the second largest city in Croatia. We will explore the remains of Diocletian's Palace, walk through its architectural history and visit different areas of the complex and its surroundings, known today as Old Town of Split. While wandering through its narrow streets, you will also see the most important monuments that Split has to offer, like Gregory of Nin with its famous golden toe, and the father of Croatian literature called Marko Marulić. After the walking tour we will refresh ourselves in one of the Split’s top craft beer destinations: a boundary-pushing pub and microbrewery that brews its own beer

    Excellent tour

Darijo was our guide through the beautiful city of Split. The tour was interesting, fun and very informative. Darijo has excellent sense of humor and he is like a walking encyclopedia. He gave us excellent recommendations for craft beer pubs in Split and plenty of useful tips. It was a great day. We definitely recommend it.

Response from the operator: Dear Anna, thank you for your kind words. See you again next year 🤗 Darijo

    History and Beer

A great tour with guide Darijo who is knowledge ablout Diocletain's palace. After that you go to a brew pub and sample craft beers to whet your whistle. He is quite conversive and will answer all of your questions.

    Krka Waterfalls and Sibenik

The national park is stunning and it’s well worth visiting to experience its natural beauty. It was very busy when we visited but not a problem thanks to the organisation of Darijo who not only presented us with an interesting tour at the park but also en route from Split and around the beautiful cathedral at Sebenik. His passion for Croatia and knowledge is second to none and I doubt you could travel with a better guide who is not only great fun but also meticulous with time keeping which worked perfectly for us. (This also allowed for Beer o’clock which was much appreciated in such hot weather!) I would highly recommend a tour with Darijo and hope to see him again when we return to Croatia.

Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting cost?

    +

Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Walking tour of Split old town and craft beer tasting start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
