Fun kayak and hike with nice views

What you should know: your feet/legs will get wet and likely muddy. You wade the kayak in and out of the river and through a couple water crossings including a sometimes thigh/waist high river. That said…it was a fun adventure with a small hike and some nice views. Lindsey was very nice and helpful.

Response from the operator: Aloha Michael, We don't recommend you wear white garments. Your review gives folks a good idea of what's involved as we paddle and hike to the falls. Glad you were able to "embrace" the mud and that you enjoyed Lindsey and her guiding. A hui hou and stay active. Micco

    kauai's secrets

Wow, Fantastic time including Rain, Mud, Mud, Mud Skiing, Mud Sliding, and a FANTASTIC guide. Too much rain interesting and fun. We will definitely recommend ypu to our friends n family

Response from the operator: Aloha, It's all about attitude. When it rains we try, unless flooding, to take a curve and make it a plus; that is when guiding gets challenging and also rewarding. Love that you enjoyed, "embracing the mud". Stay well, active and hope to see you and your friends over for more slinging. A hui hou, Micco

    Great experience

Great time, excellent guide, amazing view. River, forest, mountains and waterfall are amazing!! Guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and funny.

Response from the operator: Aloha Margaret, All our guides share the qualities of you mentioned and have managed to help us to continue to exist 42 years after pioneering our Sacred/Secret Falls tour. Thanks for taking the time. Stay well and active. A hui hou, Micco

    Our River Kayak trip

Amazing. Good guides. They made it a safe trip. They cancelled our trip on the first day because of high river water and chance of flash flooding but rebooked us for the next day. Agent at check in desk so nice and helpful

Response from the operator: Aloha Roger, Believe me, as a small business owner it is hard to cancel a tour, but safety is #1 at Kayak Kauai. Glad you were flexible and rebooked. Not only do our guides "rock" but also Barbara and Ka'ehu who greet you when you first come in at the Front Desk. Thanks for taking the time to compliment us. A hui hou, Micco

A must do on your trip!

This was such an amazing experience! Harrison, our tour guide, was friendly and knowledgable. He made time to get to know each person and made the whole experience that much more fun. We loved the kayaking and hiking to get to the sacred falls. I would love to do this again when I return!

Response from the operator: Aloha SQ4622…, Lovely name. (smiling face) We are getting your kayak ready for your return. Over our 42 years we have had folks and families return with new members, all to capture the serenity and beauty of the Wailua River area. Only reason friends return, is due to great guiding as shared by Harrison. Until sooner than later. A hui hou, Micco

Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.

How much does Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.

Is Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 818 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch?

    +

Around 286 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Wailua River Kayak and Sacred Falls Guided Hike with Lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kauai?

    +

Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kauai?

    +

April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kauai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
