    Instructor won't show up

I read the reviews but still went and trusted that it wouldn't happen to me, the instructor never arrived, never appeared, didn't have their phone on, left messages and never reploed back

Response from the operator: Sorry for the miscommunication. Unfortunately your booking was cancelled through viator prior to your lesson start time and you had failed to check booking confirmation. We apologize

It was an activity in English, but he explained it in an easy-to-understand way! It was a lot of fun and a great lecture and I was able to stand on the surfboard from the first shot! I'm going to ask you the next time!

    Great instruction!

Preston was awesome! My son and I both got up on our first try after his class. He asked about our history and went with smaller boards for us. The whole experience was fantastic. You meet at the famous Duke statue.

    Surfing lessons Waikiki

Our two teens have now developed a love for surfing after their 2 hour lesson with Preston. They both successfully rode a few waves and thought he was super cool, kind and amazingly knowledgeable, also impressed with his handstand surfing ability.

THIS IS A SCAM!! Preston no-showed and apparently has been doing this for over a week to multiple people! BEWARE! DO NOT DO IT!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any frustration caused. We were in the process of securing the required beach permits to operate legally, which affected our surf lesson availability. At the same time, changes in our OTA booking system access temporarily limited our ability to contact customers and manage bookings directly. These adjustments were necessary to comply with local regulations and ensure a safe, authorized experience for everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition and encourage you to reach out to us at (808)970-2046 so we can address any concerns personally. Mahalo.”

Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School) cost?

    +

Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School) take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 43 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School)?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Waikiki Surf Lesson (Hawaiian Boy Surf School) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
