What you get

    About this experience

Discover this beautiful, but lesser known castle, in Prague and avoid the crowded tourist sights! The original medieval residence, set on a rock above the Vltava River, was later converted into a Baroque fortress surrounding a peaceful park that offers spectacular views of the city. Visit the neo-Gothic Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul to witness the beautiful Art Nouveau decor, walk through the adjoining Vyšehrad Cemetery - where the most prominent personalities of Czech culture, science and politics have been buried - and explore Vyšehrad’s hidden underground casemates.

Fabulous views and building and grounds a more tranquil spot

The grounds the church and the cassments were very good . The views were excellent a very tranquil place. The guide was very knowledgeable, but for me personally I felt a little uncomfortable going around making the cemetery an attraction when it is still an active cemetery and maybe a little disrespectful. I would recommend this trip , it’s only my personal preference not to include this bit x

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, we’re glad you enjoyed the guide and views and we appreciate your perspective. Fun in Prague team

    WORTH THE TIME

This review is for the Casements and Gorlice only. I forget the cost but it was nominal and well worth it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The original statues from the Charles Bridge are stored there and very detailed and impressive. It was all part of an enjoyable afternoon in the Vysehrad complex.

Response from the operator: Thank you for a nice review, we hope to see you again. Fun in Prague Team

Retreat from tourist buzz while looking over the old and new towns

I got to the full guide throughout this thought-provoking and relaxing tour in and around Vysehrad. It was a relatively quiet venue away from the hustles and bustles of tourists, even though I am one of them. Toward the end, their own guide led all the others at Golice. Unfortunately it was done in local tongue which I did not understand at all. But I got to see the original statues of the Charles Bridge, which was a hidden jewel.

Response from the operator: Thank you. That is great review to read. Hope to see you again soon on one of our other tours. Fun in Prague Team

Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Prague.

How much does Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice cost?

    +

Prices start at $31 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Prague usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Prague is not rushed.

Is Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Prague, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Prague can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Prague and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Vyšehrad Castle: Casemates and Gorlice start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Prague within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Prague?

    +

On Outty we rank every Prague experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best Reviews: Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland Day Trip From Prague, Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland From Prague-Travelers' Choice 2026, Prague Essential Tour Old Town and Jewish Quarter. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Prague?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Prague?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
