7 hour tour. With great local lunch

Melissa did great job answering many questions for us about the salt mines. But more on local culture and politics. She will take care of you. Only suggestion. We left at 0900 on a Sunday so traffic took 90 minutes to get there. She said if we had left by 0800 it would be only a hour. This was our choice.

Response from the operator: Dear, Craig Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful time in Bogotá and that Melissa made the experience even more special with her detailed and kind explanations. It truly is a vibrant city with so much to offer! We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future. Best regards,

Fantastic experience at theSalt Cathedral of Zipaquirá with Esteban 🙏🏻

This August 2025 I have been on a business trip to the city of Bogota. I have been to Colombia for the first time in my life, and I didn’t quite knew what is awaiting me during my leisure time. My coworker booked a trip for me to experience the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá since he told me that this is something very unique. The guide that has been assigned to me was as good as it gets! His name is Esteban, and this young man really knows how to make a tour engaging, funny, and filled with lots of knowledge about anything you ask him about the tour! The knowledge he has about the salt cathedral is mind blowing and super interesting. Afterwards we went to the well known restaurant „Andres“ which was a fantastic experience too! All in all, I can only recommend to go on a tour with Esteban! I was not even a single second bored with him! His ways of explaining things, paired with his very good sense of humor made this tour a really great experience that I certainly won’t ever forget. I would always go on a tour again with Esteban! This tour is a solid 10 out of 10, i totally recommend Esteban as a guide 🙏🏻

Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.

How much does Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.) cost?

+

Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.) take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.

Is Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.) worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.)?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.) suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.)?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Visit to Nemocón Salt Mines Private Tour from Bogotá (7 Hrs.) start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bogotá?

+

On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Shared Tour of the Historic Candelaria in Bogotá, Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bogotá?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bogotá?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
