Interesting lectures only in Portuguese
I did the tour on March 19 at 10am. When booking I chose English as my language because I don't understand Portuguese. First of all, I'm an electrical engineer. That's why I did this tour with technical knowledge. The structure and technical facilities are really impressive and worth seeing. Just remember that each of the 20 units has about 2⁄3 the power of a conventional nuclear power plant unit. However, there was one point on the tour that disappointed me, even really annoyed me. There were about 35 visitors and three guides on the bus. At the beginning of the tour, still outside the power plant, the first guide asked if anyone would not understand Portuguese. Me and two other people raised their hands. There were instructions and safety instructions in Portuguese and English on the bus. At the power station, the second guide gave a long and detailed technical talk in Portuguese at the first station. It was exactly the same at the second and other stations. There were extensive and certainly excellent lectures, unfortunately only in Portuguese. Shortly before the end of the tour I was approached directly by the second guide. I replied that I don't understand anything and only speak English and some Spanish. And that's when it turned out that the third guide, who has stayed in the background until now, could speak English quite excellently and obviously had the necessary knowledge. But that's when the tour was almost over. My point is: It was already clear on the way out that three visitors did not understand Portuguese. The third guide should have taken the three of us aside from the start, and given us the information the Portuguese visitors got in parallel in English. If you are interested in technology and book this tour, then you should be aware that the interesting lectures may only be given in Portuguese. I took the tour on March 19th at 10:00 AM. When booking, I selected English as the language, as I don't understand Portuguese. For context, I'm an electrical engineer, so I approached this tour with some technical background. The structure and the technical facilities are truly impressive and well worth seeing. Just keep in mind that each of the 20 units has roughly two-thirds the output of a conventional nuclear power plant unit. However, there was one aspect of the tour that disappointed, even annoyed, me. There were about 35 visitors and three guides on the bus. At the beginning of the tour, still outside the power plant, the first guide asked if anyone didn't understand Portuguese. I and two other people raised our hands. Following this, instructions and safety briefings were given on the bus in both Portuguese and English. Inside the power plant, the second guide gave a long and detailed technical presentation in Portuguese at the first station. The same thing happened at the second station and at subsequent stations. There were detailed and undoubtedly excellent presentations, unfortunately only in Portuguese. Shortly before the end of the tour, I was approached by the second guide. I replied that I didn't understand anything and only spoke English and a little Spanish. It then turned out that the third guide, who had remained in the background until then, spoke excellent English. But by then the tour was almost over. My point is: it was clear even on the way there that three of the visitors didn't understand Portuguese. The third guide should have taken the three of us aside from the beginning and given us the same information in English that the Portuguese visitors were receiving. If you're interested in the technology and book this tour, you should be aware that the interesting presentations might only be given in Portuguese.

What a disappointment, cancellation at the last moment
The tour booked on this site was cancelled the day before. We had already been there... we replaced by a bus tour on the dam. The building is impressive, but that is not what we wanted to do. That was really part of our visitation goals. Coming from France it is obvious that we cannot return.

+

+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Foz do Iguacu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Foz do Iguacu and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Foz do Iguacu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Foz do Iguacu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
