Butrint National Park
The Ancient Site of Butrint was declared a museum town in 1961, thereafter in the year of 1992, it was inscribed on the National Heritage list of protected monuments, under protection of UNESCO. During the tour you will see the well-preserved Greek / Roman theater in honor of Asclepius (God of Medicine), the Byzantine Basilica, the museum within the castle, and many other antique objects.

All good except for the size of the car
I probably would’ve given this a higher rating if it weren’t for the transportation situation. There were four of us adults, and this small Volkswagen that we were picked up in had a very narrow backseat with no way out unless the people in the row in front of you got out of the car and you could push the seat forward. So three of us had to sit in a row, which was very cramped, and the fourth person was the smallest so she sat in the back. By the time we got to Butrint, she was miserable and had a horrible back pain. The car was just simply too small for four of us guests and the Driver and the guide. It was about 45 to 50 minute drive from the port to Butrint due to some of the traffic. Our guide, Claudia, was a very lovely young woman. Her English was excellent, and she was knowledgeable about the ruins. The ruins were very fascinating to see. After that, we were taken to a lovely restaurant in KSAMIL and had a little bit of time to swim in the water. The beach was lovely, but it is a little bit crowded. By the time we ate, we only had about 30 minutes to swim. It would’ve been a much better experience if we had been driven in a larger vehicle.

Fantastic day trip!
This ended up being a private tour which was great. The tour guide was very knowledgeable around Butrint, it was really interesting to hear everything. We had the perfect amount of time there. It was great to see Ksamil as well and we had a good amount of time there. I would definitely recommend this trip. Butrint was probably the best bit of our holiday!

Butrint and Ksamil tour.
We booked a group tour, and got a private tour due to numbers - win! Our guide tried, but did not have as much knowledge as other guides I have had, but did add to our experience. Butrint is definitely worth the visit - we really enjoyed the walk around the site. Ksamil is, however, not worth the effort, it is now so over-developed that there is very little point in visiting for an hour, you either need to stay for a full afternoon/evening or not bother. It would be worth a different, less busy beach option.

Highlight of my trip!
We took the ferry from Corfu to Albania and were nervous about the country but our tour guide met us at the ferry port with a sign and a massive smile. She walked us around the local area while we waited for the driver giving us little snippets of information making us feel very comfortable in a very new land. On the tour we had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and stop to look at things or take photos. We weren't rushed. The Ancient City of Butrint is a must see! Honestly, it blew my mind. We hadn't researched Albania at all but spontaneously decided to catch the ferry across and I've not stopped talking about this place since.
