About this experience

Built by Maharaja Umaid Singh (1929-1942), and named after him, Umaid Bhawan Palace is an exquisite palace, because of the local chitter sandstone used. Mandore Garden
Mandore, located about 9 kms north of the main Jodhpur city, was once the capital of the kingdom of Marwar before Rao Jodha moved it to Mehrangarh and the newly founded city of Jodhpur. This proud village was home to a substantially large fort and township. After subsequently moving to Jodhpur and the declining importance of Mandore, it did not see the sort of progress as did Mehrangarh. So, all that remains today are some assorted buildings and the exquisite Mandore Garden.
