This photography workshop let you venture and photograph life amongst maze of buildings erected from the 1960s, when residential buildings for the working class were constructed by the State to supply for the workers. The architecture of these buildings was inspired by that of the Soviet model. Wandering through the maze-like lanes of these vintage neighborhoods offers great life scenes for photography: bustling markets, improvised cages, quiet sidewalk tea stalls, and aging yellow walls next to warn-out staircases, tangled electric wires, and so much more. It’s a place where time seems to stand still, inviting photographers to document its raw authenticity.

5/5 Stars – Exceptional Street Photography Tour in Hanoi!
If you want to experience the true essence of Hanoi beyond the standard tourist spots, booking a tour with Moment Lives Photo Tour is an absolute must. From start to finish, everything was executed flawlessly. The booking process was smooth and hassle-free, and Son Trieu's (my Guide) punctual pickup set a great tone for the day. Once on the tour, Son’s deep local knowledge made all the difference—he guided me straight into the heart of authentic Hanoi, introducing me to hidden spots and vibrant scenes I never would have discovered on my own. As a photographer, Son’s support was invaluable. His guidance and insights throughout the day really helped me get the absolute most out of every shot. The cherry on top was everything I learned about street photography—his practical advice, technical tips, and compositional eye genuinely elevated my skills. Whether you are looking to capture striking photos or simply want an unforgettable, authentic look at Hanoi, I cannot recommend Son Trieu highly enough!

A true glimpse of Hanoi, far beyond the usual tourist routes.
We spent two wonderful days with MomentLives, where we did 5 of their proposed itineraries ;o) . Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and took us to unique places that offered a true glimpse of Hanoi, far beyond the usual tourist routes. The whole experience went further than photography, providing a genuine immersion into daily life that naturally led to meaningful images. With Momentlives, photography, culture, and storytelling came together beautifully throughout our journey. Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations. We left with lasting memories, both human and visual. I highly recommend MomentLives to anyone seeking an immersive, thoughtful, and authentic experience. A special thank you to Son for his genuine kindness — he is a beautiful human, and I’m so grateful to have met him.

Fantastic Photographytour company
For context, I am fairly well traveled. My photography tour with Moment Lives was the best photography trip I’ve ever made. Our tour guide, Son, was a fantastic photographer, shared cultural knowledge throughout the trip and an amazing person. Vietnam is an amazing country and Moment Lives ensures you see and understand the best of it and all of it. You will not be disappointed.

The highlight of our trip to Vietnam
We spent a day with Momentlives, going to the Fish Traps village in the morning and to an older area of Hanoi, with communist era housing, street markets etc in the afternoon. Our guide James was excellent and very knowledgeable about both his country and photography. His relationships with local people made it easy for us to interact with them too and get great shots. The day was the highlight of our time in Vietnam and we would not have got to either of the places we chose without Momentlives. Many thanks to Mike too for his help arranging the trips.

Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $68 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Vintage Hanoi - Street Photography Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ha Giang Loop 3-Day Small Group - from Hanoi, (Group/Individual) HANOI STREET FOOD TOUR, Incense Village Quang Phu Cau, Hat Village and Hanoi City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
