Wonderful private Villa de Leya and surroundings tour
My sister and I did a 34 day trip in Colombia of which 16 days were with BnB Colombia Tours. This company is just outstanding in their organisation and communication. It was a delight working with them. A big thank you to Helene Colmart, Valentina and Natalia. The guides and drivers we had in the different places were all outstanding. We were picked up at our Bogota apartment for a 2-day private trip to Zipaquira, Raquira and Villa de Leyva and surroundings. Our guide was Juan Carlos Lagorio and driver Giovanni. Juan Carlos speaks excellent English and has a great sense of humour. We had such a lovely time with him. One of the best guides ever. At the end of our first day we arrived at our hotel in Villa de Leyva from where Juan Carlos and Giovanni picked us up the next morning for our tour of Villa de Leyva and surroundings. We first visited the Plaza Mayor and the Iglesia Senora del Rosario. Then we drove to the Parque Arqueologico Monquira (Infiernito), an ancient sacred place of the Muisca tribe. They erected this place which reminds of Stonehenge, 3000 years ago. This visit was extremely interesting. We then visited the fossil museum where farmers discovered a 130 million year old fossil of a giant marine dinosaur in 1977. Our next stop is the small town of Sutamarchan where we had a delightful lunch after visiting the plaza and cathedral. Juan Carlos and Giovanni ordered typical Colombian food for us as well as Refaco (a mixture of beer and an orange soda). After lunch they drove us to Vinedo Ain Karim, a wine farm where I had privately booked a wine tasting. They waited for us and afterwards took us to the Terracotta house. This pottery marvel was one of the highlights of our Colombia trip. It is a not to be missed attraction. They dropped us off at our accommodation and arranged to pick us up in the morning for our trip to Barichara.
Response from the operator: Hola Hola, Thank you immensely for sharing your wonderful travel experience with BnB Colombia Tours. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of your 34-day journey through Colombia. Helene, Valentina, and Natalia are thrilled to receive your appreciation for their dedication to organization and communication. They, along with the entire team, strive to ensure seamless travel experiences for our guests. It's delightful to hear that your 2-day private trip to Zipaquira, Raquira, and Villa de Leyva exceeded your expectations. Juan Carlos Lagorio and Giovanni are indeed gems of our team, and we're ecstatic that they made your time with us so enjoyable. Juan Carlos's excellent English and sense of humor undoubtedly added to the experience. It was an absolute pleasure to have you and your sister travel with us, and we sincerely hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable adventures in Colombia. safe travels Bruce

Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.
How much does Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $214 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.
Is Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Villa de Leyva Private Full Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bogotá?
+
On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Shared Tour of the Historic Candelaria in Bogotá, Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bogotá?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bogotá?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
