What you'll see and do

  1. Cajon del Maipo

We will arrive at the place at 9:00 am, it is a medium high walk of approximately 3 hours arriving at the Condors viewpoint at 11:30 am with a height of 2031 meters high. We enjoyed this beautiful place in total peace and tranquility watching the Condors fly in total majesty. We enjoyed our traditional cheese board, salami, nuts, cookies. After taking many photos and leaving the place clean, we began to descend, arriving at the vehicle at approximately 4 p.m. then return to Santiago. The other option is just a panoramic walk through the entire Maipo drawer enjoying beautiful views of the Andes mountain range with Condors flying in their habitat and on both walks we will give you a board composed of cheese, cookies, nuts and a toast with 100% Chilean Carmenere wine. On the way back We offer you a restaurant so you can have lunch in total peace of mind and continue enjoying this beautiful place.

  2. Cajon del Maipo

From Santiago we take the route to Cajón del Maipo located to the east of the city. The road runs alongside the Maipo River, crossing different towns with beautiful views and landscapes full of colors. Then we take the road to the maitenes. We arrived at the place and registered at the Mirador de Cóndores Municipal Natural Reserve. We began to climb a hard climb hike between landscapes of the Cordillera, different types of flora and fauna. The sound of the birds surprises us. We continue advancing and the sun and the path give us groups of goats that run through the stream full of vegetation, giving us a break to take beautiful photos and views of the mountain. We reach the highest and final point. 2,010 meters high. There we will prepare our traditional cheese board, salami, cookies, nuts so you can enjoy all that magic. Seeing the Condors fly in their natural habitat is a great gift that the Andes Mountains give us.

unsafe but a wonderful location

Franco was good in difficult circumstances, the destination was truly astonishing. However, the safety of the tour was woeful, and we were lucky to escape unharmed. It was unprofessional which led to the safety concerns. The route was not as described, and we are not sure we even took the right one given the guide had no map. The driver, whilst a lovely person simply could not drive to European standards. Not slowing down for speed bumps, stopping at a green light and driving on the wrong side of the road through mountain roads with trucks likely to be coming in the opposite direction.

Response from the operator: Es un lugar bello y majestuoso.

Exhilarating and Memorable

Our guide was fun, funny, knowledgeable, and worked hard to make the experience a memorable one. We wanted to get a taste of the Andes Mountains and do some hiking. It was exhilarating! And topped off with a lovely Charcuterie Board at the summit. Many Thanks for making our last day in Chile so beautiful and fun.

Response from the operator: Estamos agradecidos por habernos dado la oportunidad de mostrar las maravillas de nuestro País. Vivimos para eso. Les daremos sus saludos cordiales a nuestro Guía.

This walk is simply wonderful, of a steady beauty. We were also lucky to have as a guide Willy who in addition to taking us gave a true lesson of history from the whole region. I recommend

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 24-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Viewpoint of Condors Cajón del Maipo?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?

+

On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 vineyards from Santiago., Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Santiago: Valparaiso, Viña del Mar & Casablanca Wine Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santiago?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santiago?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
