About this experience
Unlike standard cooking classes, this activity is fully dedicated to Vietnam’s most iconic street food: banh mi, and pairs it with Hanoi’s legendary egg/coconut or salt coffee. You’ll not only taste these local favorites, but also learn how to make them completely from scratch in an intimate home kitchen setting. From kneading your own baguette dough and pickling vegetables to brewing egg coffee with traditional methods, every step is hands-on and personal. Small groups ensure plenty of interaction with your local host, who shares not just recipes but the cultural stories behind each dish. This is more than a class - it’s a true Hanoi experience that blends food, history, and hospitality, leaving you with both unforgettable memories and the skills to recreate Vietnam’s flavors back home.

The Best Baking and Brewing in the Love Lab
Jesse was a fantastic instructor who carefully showed our class of four how to brew coconut, egg and salted coffees. We were all very proud to have baked our own bahn mi and went on to construct a delicious meal with a perfect combination of flavours and textures. Jesse was welcoming and generous in sharing his knowledge of coffee and great food. Thank you for helping us in making such a special Hanoi memory, along with our new brewing and baking friends Cindy and Emily. Could not fault the cooking facilities. Many thanks Jesse, and your team!
Response from the operator: Hi there, what a heartwarming review! We love that your class became a chance to learn, cook, and create memories with new friends along the way. It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed everything from brewing Vietnamese coffees to baking your own bánh mì from scratch. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to Jesse! Thank you for choosing to spend part of your Hanoi adventure with us. We hope every time you brew a cup of Vietnamese coffee or bake a fresh loaf, it brings you back to the Love Kitchen Lab. ❤️ Take care, Love Kitchen Lab

It was a great experience where to guide showed and explained many things about making bahn mi and we were all included in making a batch of dough then our own small bahn mi. also learnt about thier coffee and differnet types. Go hungry
Response from the operator: Hello, thank you for your lovely review! We’re so glad you enjoyed getting involved in every step, from mixing the dough together to shaping your own little bánh mì. Learning about Vietnamese coffee alongside the baking makes for a pretty tasty combination! And "Go hungry" might just be the best advice for future guests 😄 Thanks for joining us, and we hope you left with a full stomach, new skills, and some delicious memories of Hanoi. I am now a master bakery
Had a great time making egg coffee and bread for banh mi. Host’s English was great and instructions were easy to understand. Bread we made was super tasty (never thought about adding beer to dough). The food was prepared family style (one person did the cutting of the meat while another person prepared the veggies), but I felt involved in every step of the process. Some parts we did do as individuals like the coffee and the rolling of the bread. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Hello, thank you so much for sharing your experience! Great to know that you found the Banh Mi workshop fun, easy to follow, and interactive. Thanks again for joining us and we hope to see you again in another Vietnamese cooking class! Warmly, Love Kitchen Lab

Great baking and brewing
The Bahn Mi making was great fun. Jesse is a good teacher, very patient, and skilled. I learned a lot about coffee. They are located only 15mins from Lotte shopping mall which is very convenient if you want to shop a little too.
Response from the operator: Hello, thank you so much for your kind review! We’re glad you had fun with the bánh mì baking and picked up a lot from the coffee session as well. Great to hear Jesse’s patient and skilled guidance made the class easy to follow. Thanks again for joining us, we’re really happy to have had you in our cooking class 😊 Best regards, Love Kitchen Lab

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee cost?
+
Prices start at $520000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 105 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee?
+
Around 37 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Vietnamese Bread & Brew: Banh Mi Baking Class & Specialty Coffee start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
