Long ride that is worth it; but make sure Sun is out
Hallstatt is quite the change from the major cities. It is nestled in the mountain range around a beautiful lake. The town itself is crowded with visitors. Hallstatt is worth the drive but check all weather first. Unfortunately for us it was cloudy and rainy so we could not experience the real beauty there are parts of the drive because of the clouds over the mountains and towns. You need to know if you take a tour the stops they make require Euro coins for bathroom. Some places in these towns only take Euros and no cards. Our guide was Richard. He is young and is very personable. There isn't too much he can say along the ride because a lot is interstate. But he does tell you about the lakes region and town of Hallstatt. He told me he drives an hour to get to Vienna then rides to and from Hallstatt and back home making this a very long day. He smiled and was super nice even though he works such long days. I respect him for that and we tipped him well.

Bus didn’t show up
The departure was 7.15 and i was waiting at the meeting point since 7 and the bus didn’t show up. Not sure if this is a scam!!

Canceled Last Minute
The tour group cancelled last minute. We showed up for our pickup at 7 am at our hotel. When no one showed up I logged into the Viator site, only to find a messsge the trip was canceled. Would have been professional to send a courtesy message via text, email or phone call so we could have made other arrangements.

It was a great way to get...
It was a great way to get to see 2 cities in one day. Tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to have our own personal guide . Thank you Marek for a great experience and for getting us to dinner on time 😊

Best last minute decision ever!
This was the best decision of our trip so far. After a last minute booking we were delighted to meet our personal chauffer for the day. Richard treated us like royalty and it was clear that the safety of his guests was of paramount imortance. Richard's knowledge of the area was balanced by his charisma and humility. His dining reccomendations were spot on and there was sufficient free time to explore independently. It was a pleasure to have his company for this tour and was sad for us to say goodbye.

Why this scores 71

Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride cost?
+
Prices start at $83 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 126 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride?
+
Around 44 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Vienna To Hallstatt Day Tour With Boat ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
