Warning on Vienna Pass, read before you buy!
Had a terrible and disappointing experience with use of the Vienna Pass. Bought the Vienna Flexi Pass for 4 attractions during my Dec 2025 visit but didnt get to follow through with my attraction visits as planned. Please note that the Vienna pass is NOT a ticjet into the attractions! You need to exchange it for the attractions. Was denied entry into the Sisi Museum as there was no more tickets left for the day and the day after...a complete disappointment.
Response from the operator: Dear gguestonweb, We are very sorry to learn that the Vienna PASS did not meet your expectations. All the sights included in our passes are listed on our website (www.viennapass.de/en/sights); over 90 different sights can be visited with the Vienna PASS alone. The individual opening hours of the individual museums can unfortunately change from time to time. We have no influence on this, we always advise you to check with the chosen attractions or on their websites before visiting. All the information regarding the Vienna PASS is available on our website (https://www.viennapass.de/en). We hope you still had a pleasant time in Vienna. Kind regards, your Vienna PASS Team

massive rip off
Absolutely do not recommend. I paid 44 euro for the Flexi pass with two visits and it failed to scan after one use. It would have cost 22 euro to buy a ticket on the door. A huge, huge waste of money and the people at the ticket offices can't help as it's not their pass system. Do not recommend. Also, at Schonnbrunn Palace you only get a short tour using the pass rather than the full entry - really a rip off in every way.

Must have for Vienna!
Highly recommend! This was perfect for our family of 3(including one 7YO) since we were able to use it for so many things! We used it for; the Spanish Riding School, the Schönbrunn Palace(state apartments and children’s museum), the Hop on and Off Bus to get us around, and the Prater Ferris Wheel! It helped save a lot of $ and gave us options. We did the 5 passes for 2 adults and 1 child.

Bad service Hop on Hop off
The Flexi pass worked for us in a couple of places where we didn´t need to wait in line. In the rest of the attractions there were not so many people. However, the Hop on Hop off service was very bad. The drivers are not friendly, the first day we lost two hours on the wrong bus, they make two 15 minutes stops on each route, they park in the sun and if you don't want to lose your place you must resist. Unlike other countries, in Vienna the bus does not have air conditioning down stairs, and they are not clean.

Good service
We used the bus for traveling to a site away from the city and during a rain storm. All went well with the experience.

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass cost?
+
Prices start at $36 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass take?
+
Plan for about 1440 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1440-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass?
+
Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 1440-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Vienna Sightseeing FLEXI Pass start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
