Disappointing
I’m giving this whale-watching excursion three stars. The welcome and the quality of the boat were exceptional, honestly. The Zodiac we were on was extremely fast and very stable, and it was handled very professionally, which made the trip enjoyable. However, I’m giving only three stars because the guide kept us far too far away from the whales. As a result, we were unable to get close enough to really enjoy the experience. I have been on several whale-watching excursions in other countries, and every time we were able to get much closer. In fact, the other boats in the area were significantly closer to the whales than we were. Personally, seeing orcas or whales from several hundred metres away is of very limited interest. We were the only boat staying at such a distance, which was particularly disappointing. Overall, the boat and the crew were excellent, but the distance maintained from the whales significantly reduced the quality of the experience.
