My booking disappeared...
My booking disappeared from the app, so I had to again pay for entry into the two venues. No help from tour guide who had already driven off. No more than a very expensive taxi service

Total breakdown in communication.
Thiis fell through completely. First. The tour company sent instructions that were extremely unclear. For example, they wrote to "Meet at the cafe or at the bus stop.". These are opposite corners of a large busy plaza, so that pretty darn important to know.. Also, we scheduled for a 9:30 pickup and arrived early at 9:15. At 9:35 I was finally able to contact someone after trying for 30 minutes. The lady said I missed the appointment which was at 8:45. Then she said to wait until 9:55 for the next bus, but she couldn't describe what the bus looked like, what tour company it was from, or where it would be picking us up.... (the cafe or the bus stop.) We waited at the bus stop for a while, then got a call back that the bus was stuck in traffic and would be 20 more minutes past 9:55. We asked for a refund because the lady kept acting like it was my fault we missed the 8:45 bus...even though we scheduled for 9:30. The lady said she would cancel the itinerary for a full refund. But I haven't seen any confirmation on the cancellation or refund. Is there someone I can contact to ensure a refund?
Response from the operator: Dear Mr Robert, Thank you for your feedback, although we find it does not fully reflect the circumstances of the situation. We are sorry for the inconvenience you experienced during the tour. We would like to clarify the sequence of events: All necessary information for the service—including meeting time, location, and tickets—was sent to you via message 24 hours in advance. Unfortunately, the first departure at 8:55 was missed, and despite our attempts to contact you, it was difficult to communicate as there was resistance to understanding that a pick-up cannot occur at multiple locations across the city at the same time. When we reached you, we offered the option to join the next departure at 9:55. Due to traffic, the bus was delayed beyond this time. We understand the wait was frustrating, and although we noticed impatience while waiting for the bus, we accommodated your request and issued a full refund, sincerely apologizing for the delay. We hope this clarifies the situation and appreciate your understanding. Kind regards, Napoli Official Tour Team

Bit chaotic but a fantastic trip
We were asked to change the day of our tour and ended up doing it the first full day we were in naples. A little bit chaotic as the driver didn't seem to know the full plan but we got there in the end. Overall a great trip and our driver was very friendly and cracked a few jokes, he had a small translater with him so we were able to communicate even though the language barrier was there. Herculaneum is awesome, much easier and less daunting than pompeii and definately worth a trip. Vesuvius is much tougher than it looks but if you make it to the top the views are stunning, if you're physically fit enough it's definately a must do.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We look forward to seeing you again!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.
How much does Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.
Is Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Vesuvius and Herculaneum Day Trip from Naples with Skip the Line start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
