Left us stranded at the cruise terminal in rain storm

They did not show up so we were stranded in the rain ! Currently trying to arrange other transportation. This is the worse experience I’ve had with Vaitar or any travel company- never again

    Absolutely recommend

We wouldn’t have made it into Venice without our guide there to save us and help us get from the port into the city and to our hotel. She was so lovely, helpful, and stayed with us until we were at our hotel.

    Buyer beware!

Be careful before booking! Cruise ships coming in to Venice must go to ports outside the city - Fusina or Chioggia. This is not a service that picks you up at either of those places. Our Viking ship docked at Fusina and I reached out to see if we could get a water taxi from the dock in Fusina to our hotel in Venice. They booked it, never mentioning that they didn't come to Fusina, and said they would meet us at the cruise terminal. Never having been to Venice, we did not realize that the cruise terminal they meant is a 20+ minute drive from Fusina. We had to scramble to get Viking to shuttle us to the cruise port. To make matters worse, because they gave us no clear meeting point, our shuttle driver directed us to the wrong spot, and our water taxi never came. Two phone calls to the taxi service and an hour and a half later, they repeatedly told us they were coming, but went to a different location from us. No attempts to find us, or clarify where we were waiting on their end, so we ended up taking public transportation. Although Viator responded to our request we were not able to get a full refund. If you choose to use this service, make sure you know exactly what you are getting, know that it's very over-priced (we learned later from our hotel). and be prepared to contact them, because they will not contact you.

    Short trip from San...

Short trip from San Basilio terminal for smaller ships to our hotel. Gentleman was waiting at the terminal with our sign and smoothly moved our luggage to the dock for the water taxi. Took all of 15 or 20 minutes.

Better than just getting a water taxi???

There was nobody waiting at the terminal with a sign and it took multiple phone calls to get an answer at the office of the company. Also took a bit to find out where we were supposed to go without the initial point of contact. A water taxi would have been cheaper and quicker.

Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice cost?

    +

Prices start at $163 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 109 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice?

    +

Around 38 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Venice Private Arrival Transfer by Water Taxi: Cruise Port to Central Venice start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
