What you get

    About this experience

Discover Venice on a 3.5-hour guided walking tour that begins in Hidden Venice and ends with its most iconic monuments. Start in the quiet backstreets and canals behind St Mark’s, where your guide reveals everyday Venetian life, charming bridges and intimate campos, and introduces two hidden gems: the exterior of La Fenice Theatre and the graceful Bovolo Staircase. Then enjoy skip-the-line access to the Doge’s Palace, exploring its opulent halls, masterpieces by Tintoretto and Veronese, and crossing the Bridge of Sighs to the old prisons. Finish inside St Mark’s Basilica with skip-the-line entry, where golden mosaics, Byzantine domes and marble inlays come to life through your guide’s stories. This is a small-group tour, also available as a private tour option for guests who prefer a fully personalized experience.

    Venice tour

The tour guide provided a lot of information about the sites. It was nice that she wanted to intetact with those on the tour. The guide provided time to take pictures. She was open to providing bathroom breaks as needed which was appreciated.

    Walking on air in Venice

Giorgia was on time, outgoing and friendly, but most of all very knowledgeable about the city and the places we visited. Would definitely recommend!!

    Not the best:(

Overall the tour was average. We cannot say it was great. First the tour had too much walking down alleys (partly my fault) for not reading the paperwork they sent. In the description it doesn’t say much about “the walk”. But it was most of the afternoon tour! We spent less than a half hour inside the Basilica, but spent an hour and a half walking down alleys and past shops. Second the guide talked way too much. We got so tired of listening to her going on and on. Also the way they did the tours she repeated a lot of things to the afternoon guests, that we had already heard in the morning. She is very knowledgeable but we did not want that much information!. We were disappointed in this tour, and came home exhausted. Way too much useless walking.

Response from the operator: Dear Client, I'm sorry to hear the tour did not meet your expectations but glad that you mentioned that probably you did not read all the information prior to booking as it is specified we would include a walking tour as well as part of the experience. We are aware that we can not please everyone and every person has its own expectations from tours . It is our top priority to give valuable and insightful experiences to our clients and very rarely we had bad comments about our guides giving too much explanations - I would be worried personally if I received comments about the guide not interacting and narrate the history, art and folklore of the city. In regards to St Mark's basilica, that is about the time required and allowed to stay inside St Mark's basilica, considering that we also include a Walking tour. Kind Regards, Monica

    We were signed up for...

We were signed up for Doge Palace and Saint Marks Basilica, when we arrive, they did not have our name on the list for Doge Palace. We still was able to tour the palace, but we were very disappointed that our name was not on the list. It certainly caused us some anxiety! as well, it slowed down the tour because she had to call her headquarters to get approval for us to go.

Our guides (one for Doges Palace and another for St. Mark's) met us promptly at the assigned location. Both were excellent communicators, knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects. We would book with Viator again!!!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems cost?

    +

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 266 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems?

    +

Around 93 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Venice 3,5 hrs tour: Doge's Palace, St Mark's and Hidden Gems start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
