    Perfecr afternoon art break

My 13 year old daughter and I loved this workshop and the chance to meet and learn from a local young artist. She met us with a smile, handed us our tool bags and escorted us on a 10 minute walk to a shaded canal area with room to lay our painting boards.. We had the option of painting a few different scenes depending on which way we wanted to face, and she had examples of her her own work for each. We sketched, painted and relaxed as the gondolas glided by and people walked over the nearby bridges. She shared helpful tips and suggestions and was lovely to talk with throughout the session. I asked for some help with shading and detail and she stepped in to add a few simple accents which transformed my painting in seconds. At the end of our session she snapped pictures for us and led us back to the meeting area. We absolutely loved the whole experience and wish we could have spent more hours painting and chatting. It needed up being a private class for just the two of us, which was an added bonus! Absolutely recommend booking this to see the city from a new perspective and take a break from the busier tourist areas. We loved it!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, We appreciate your feedback. Thank you and we hope to see you in Venice again. Regards, Customer Care Team

Seeing Venice with a new perspective

Set by a romantic Venetian canal, Petra our artist guide, clearly explained how to capture the colors, lines and shadows of Venice. This experience is 1.5 hours, and gives an introduction to watercolor sketching and painting. It is a pleasant way to spend your time being creative and learning something new in this magical place. The meetup spot is at the Prison Museum entrance under the shady portico, near the Bridge of Sighs steps on the canal.

    Great experience!

Loved this experience. The instructor shared some basic skills and made sure to continue to offer support and suggestions, but in a way that was relaxing and supportive. We had a mix of zero artistic skill and established skills and it was fun for all of us. Highly recommend.

Probably best for those with a lot of experience already

Watercolor painting is challenging - add in a 10 minute walk to the final location, a demo that took over a half hour to watch, and you're left with not enough time to paint the scene that you choose, unless you already have a lot of experience.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, thanks a lot for the positive feedback about the tour and for choosing us. We are glad to know that everything went well and we hope to see you again in Venice very soon! Best regards, Customer Care Team

    Great watercolour experience

The weather was poor (raining) so we ended up in the studio which was understandable. It ended up being just the 2 of us and the artist was very patient with us as we are just beginners. He gave us some great tips about using the watercolours, creating the palette, setting up the painting and the how to construct the image. The image he chose seemed way to detailed for us but he was able to have us produce something recognisable in the 2 hour session. He is a great communicator and teacher. We would wholeheartedly recommend this experience.

Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle cost?

    +

Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Venetian Watercolors Painting Workshop at the Historic Art Circle start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
