Relaxing evening sampling local foods away from the tourist crowds.

We enjoyed a relaxing evening sampling different wines, spritzers and cicchetti at various little bacari. It was a fun experience but not that filling. We were still a little hungry at the end but it was great to eat at quiet places away from the crowds.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review! I'm so pleased you enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and discovered authentic bacari away from the busiest tourist areas. This experience is designed as a journey through Venetian food culture, with a selection of cicchetti paired with local wines and spritz rather than a full dinner. I'm glad you appreciated the authentic flavors and hidden locations, and I hope to welcome you back to Venice for another culinary adventure soon! 🍷😊

    Venice night tour

We had an absolutely amazing time touring Venice and tasting the local cuisine. Can’t recommend it enough for those who want to get out of the touristy areas

It was a pleasure sharing these local spots with you, and I hope the memories (and flavors!) will bring you back to Venice again someday. A presto, Valerio deTourist

    Good guide, great tour

Great Tour, also in perfect german language. Funny, interesting and with many little stories about Venice and its history. We also found a lot of hidden places offside San Marco & the tourists.

Response from the operator: thank you so much for your kind words! I’m very happy you enjoyed the tour, the stories, and discovering those hidden corners of Venice away from the crowds. I’m glad you also appreciated the tour in German – it was a real pleasure guiding you. Hope to see you again on your next visit to Venice! Best regards, Valerio

More authentic way to see Venice!

Great tour! It was a fantastic way to get off the beaten path and try some more authentic Venetian foods and drinks that I wouldn’t necessarily have tried on my own (but liked!). Our guide was awesome and even provided a few great restaurant recs that were the best meals we had on our trip! I’d highly recommend—just make sure to read the fine print—not all drinks at each stop are included, which was fine but I’d glossed over when I booked.

A fantastic introduction to the city

Valerio's tour was amazing, We booked with him for the first night we arrived in Venice so that we could be shown the Hiden gems of the city that you wouldn't normally find as a tourist. Valerio was chatty, personable and spoken fluent English which made it easy to ask questions when walking around the winding side streets. This combined with his outstanding knowledge of venitian history made the tour both interesting and enjoyable. Before meeting, he messaged and arranged a spot to meet along with providing a list of restaurants that he would recommend within the city. During our tour he even phoned and booked at his number one recommendation for us which we have eaten at this evening. The restaurant was outstanding, tucked away in a secluded courtyard its certainly something that we couldn't have located without his recommendation. I will be passing his details to any family or friends that come to visit this beautiful city and would recommend Valerio to anyone!

Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Venetian food stories: a private culinary tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
