    Great cultural experience

This was a lovely day in an authentic part of Bali, a little way away from Ubud. We really enjoyed the market visit and the presentation style was informative and friendly. The food was yum. Be aware that while this event is listed as a vegetarian cooking class, it’s an omnivore class with vegetarian options. This caused a bit of confusion when we arrived and were asked if we eat chicken several times. Once that was straightened out it was all fine.

    Not worth the effort

It ended before it got started. They were supposed to pick us up at our hotel and never showed up, never answered our communications when we reached out while waiting for an hour for someone to come, and never answered the Viator representative when he reached out to them for us. We are now waiting for a refund.

    Delicious and fun

We had a great time learning how to make Indonesian food. The vegetarian member of our party was well catered for. Loved the market visit and rice field explanation.

What should I bring or wear?

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
