    About this experience

My philosophy is to offer infotainment, I try to know everything there is to know about Vincent Van Gogh( my wife can't believe I still buy more books...), but I also spice it up with fun facts and anecdotal information about his life. Judging form my reviews you can tell that people loved it for the knowledge part but also the enthusiasm I bring to the stage. When you have kids; I tend to get them engaged too.

    Nice

Friendly and flexible Guide. We‘ve learnt a lot about Vincent. Great Museum, eben for the Kids. Thanks to Rolf!

Response from the operator: Tx for your kind words! Happy to hear that your daughter also liked it.

    A perfect guide.

Rolf is a fantastic guide, he even moved my visit to the afternoon, due to a problem of mine… and today is King’s Day. He is very knowledgeable and funny while telling you about the life and phases of Van Gogh’s art.

Response from the operator: Tx for your kind words! Pity that you fell ill and had to cancel at first. Luckily, you recovered quickly! And sent me a whatsapp to tell me that… And more luck that i was available to show you like 6 hrs later. Long live the King… that is why i was free the afternoon.

The Museum was great! But our guide never showed. Expect a refund!

Again. Museum was great but we waited at the prearranged meeting place for Rolfe and he never showed. Museum let us in and we did audio tour.

Response from the operator: So sorry! A weird coincidence that you were a bit late, a lady approached me excused herself for being late and I just figured it was you. We exchanged an app 10 minutes before where you said to be a few minutes late. Still my bad, I shouldda looked for 2 adults. This was a mother with her son and daughter. Terrible! I send you a text message also with the same offer I make you now: You guys can get a free tour of your choice: Rijksmuseum or still Van Gogh, an historic city walk or a bike tour. Viator also knows this. You can get my contact details from them. Maybe when you have a stop over on your way to another European destination: please accept this free gift. And you have received your refund already! All the best, Rolf Schreuder

    Last Minute in Amsterdam

This was a great tour. We were not able to get tickets during our stay as they were sold out. Rolf's tour allowed us access to the wonderful Van Gogh museum and was very informative and interesting.

Response from the operator: Hi Michael, Tx for taking the effort to post a review! And happy to hear that you guys loved it! All the best, Rolf

PICK THIS ONE! It’s the best.

Rolf is a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about both Theo and Vincent Van Gogh’s life and what was going on with the painter when he painted each of his works. I very much enjoyed engaging with Rolf about the different works and styles Van Gogh painted, and he gave us great recommendations for other museums on our trip! I would give him 10 stars if I could.

Response from the operator: Tx for taking the effort of writing such a lofty review!! All the best, Rolf

Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit cost?

    +

Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Van Gogh Museum Guided Visit start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
