About this experience

I pick you up from your accommodation in Verona province and take you into the heart of Valpolicella Classica, through its five historic municipalities. Stops along the way follow your interests, from scenic viewpoints to a short walk among the vineyards. We then reach a small, family-run winery I've personally selected, where you're welcomed like family and shown the cellar and vineyards before tasting. You'll taste 4-6 wines from the winery's production, typically Valpolicella Classico, Ripasso and Amarone, made mainly from Corvina and Rondinella grapes. Food isn't included, so the tasting unfolds at a relaxed, unhurried pace. At the end, I drive you back to your accommodation. What makes it special: small groups only, no buses, no crowds — just real conversations with the people who make the wine. Valpolicella is best understood slowly, through its family cellars rather than its best-known labels — and that's exactly what this tour offers: genuine access to its hidden side.

What you'll see and do

  1. Our Incontro unfolds in two parts. First, we explore the territory together: I'll pick you up from your accommodation and we'll venture through the five historic municipalities of Valpolicella Classica, past villages, vineyards and views you'd struggle to find on your own — your curiosity sets the pace.

  2. Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella

Then I take you to a small, family-run winery I've personally chosen for your group: you'll be welcomed like friends, not like the next busload of tourists. A member of the family — often the one who makes the wine with their own hands, sometimes the one who's loved and told its story for a lifetime — will guide you through the vines and the cellar, sharing the story of their land, before offering a guided tasting of 4 to 6 wines, an authentic expression of this territory. The whole experience lasts about 2 to 3 hours, with no rush at all. At the end, I'll drive you back to your accommodation, leaving you with the taste of Valpolicella in your heart.

How long does Valpolicella Intimate Amarone Wine Tour at a Hidden Winery take?

Is Valpolicella Intimate Amarone Wine Tour at a Hidden Winery worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Verona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Valpolicella Intimate Amarone Wine Tour at a Hidden Winery?

+

Is Valpolicella Intimate Amarone Wine Tour at a Hidden Winery suitable for kids and families?

+

How far in advance should I book Valpolicella Intimate Amarone Wine Tour at a Hidden Winery?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Verona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Verona and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Verona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Verona?

+

On Outty we rank every Verona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Verona Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class With Free Flowing Wine, Verona Highlights Walking Tour in Small-group, Highlights and hidden gems Verona Bike Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Verona?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Verona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
