    About this experience

We will leave Bari at 08:30 for a day to discover three jewels of the Itria Valley. Polignano a Mare is a coastal village famous for the sheer cliffs and crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. The old town, with its narrow streets, arches and flowered balconies, overlooks beaches such as Lama Monachile. Here we will make a stop of 2h30 hours. Ostuni, the “White City”, stands on a hill with spectacular views and its old town is a labyrinth of alleys where whitewashed houses create a unique atmosphere. We invite you to take advantage of the 2h30 at your disposal to try typical local dishes. Finally, Locorotondo is renowned for its circular center, white houses decorated with flowers and the "cummerse", the typical sloping roofs. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of vineyards and olive groves, famous for local white wines. In Locorotondo we will stop for 1h30 hours. After a day full of discoveries, we will return to Bari/Polignano at 19:00.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Centro Storico di Polignano a Mare

Polignano a Mare: Birthplace of the singer Domenico Modugno, famous for his iconic song "Nel blu dipinto di blu," Polignano enchants visitors with a historic center rich in Arab, Byzantine, Spanish, and Norman influences, seen in the remnants of the four defensive towers that once surrounded the old town. Its crystal-clear waters and cliffs carved with impressive sea caves are Polignano’s defining features, earning it the title of the "Pearl of the Adriatic." Located just over 30 km from Bari, it’s a must-visit destination.

    2. Ostuni

Ostuni, known as the “White City,” is a charming Apulian town perched on a hill, offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the Adriatic Sea. Its main feature is the architecture of its houses, all whitewashed with lime, giving it a unique and enchanting appearance. At the center of Ostuni stands the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, a masterpiece of Romanesque-Gothic architecture. The church’s façade, decorated with a magnificent rose window, and the interior rich in frescoes and details, represent one of the most important places of worship in the city. From the Cathedral, a series of streets lead to panoramic terraces offering breathtaking views. In the heart of Ostuni is also the Piazza della Libertà, a lively meeting point surrounded by cafés and restaurants. In the surrounding countryside, visitors can immerse themselves in the centuries-old olive groves that represent the agricultural heart of the region.

    3. Centro Storico Locorotondo

Locorotondo: This village, truly one of the most beautiful in Italy, has been awarded the Orange Flag by the Touring Club for the harmony of its forms and the accessibility of its historic center. You will be captivated by the stunning white houses, the cobbled streets paved with local stone (the "chianche"), and the elegant doorways. Another unique feature of Locorotondo is its geometrically regular houses with sloping roofs, made from two slopes of limestone slabs known as "cummerse." These charming little houses have been renovated and are now offered to visitors as part of a diffused hotel experience.

    Great service

It's a well organised trip I would highly recommend, I've been to these places by public transport as this service was unavailable in 2022. It gives ease of getting there with an airconditioned coach. It's brilliant

    DAY TRIP FROM BARI

We enjoyed our day immensely, especially Polignano and Ostuni. However, Locorotondo appeared deserted. Also I just wonder why I paid a lot more booking the trip in advance from Australia ????

    Very pleasant journey.

Bus is always in time, way for the group. It clean, there are mineral water that you can buy in the bus. The guide is telling most important things about the villages… and sounds very pleasant music during the trip.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bari.

How much does Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bari usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bari is not rushed.

Is Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 72 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bari, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari?

    +

Around 25 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bari can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bari and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Valle d'Itria Tour: Polignano, Ostuni e Locorotondo, da Bari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bari within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bari?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bari experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bari’s Ultimate Street Food Tour - Small Group by Do Eat Better, Boat Tour of the Polignano a Mare Coast with Aperitif, Polignano a Mare: Boat Tour of the Caves - Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bari?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bari?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
