Experience to forget
Visit to the Upper Belvedere in Vienna to forget, not because of the beauty of the site and the works, but because of the absolutely inappropriate manners of the surveillance staff. At the entrance, we were not warned to put away our backpacks as happened at other sites, and during the visit, some guards were all over us as if we were criminals; even a middle-aged guard started yelling, while constantly inviting us to be quiet, inviting us to go outside, and aware that we would not understand her language, neither English nor Italian. It is truly disappointing that in such an important place of culture, there are no proper manners toward the tourist who, among other things, pays significant amounts to visit these beauties where grace, empathy, and good manners must reign supreme.
Response from the operator: We are very sorry to hear that your visit to the Upper Belvedere was affected by your experience with the security staff. We understand how uncomfortable it can feel to be treated in an unfriendly manner, especially when visiting such an important cultural attraction. The museum’s security staff and on-site procedures are managed directly by the venue. However, we take your feedback seriously and will share your concerns with the relevant team for their attention. We hope that, despite this disappointing experience, you were still able to enjoy the beauty of the Belvedere and its impressive collection. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Good time will be spent here
Beautiful setting, historic buildings and nice green space. Despite going not long after it opened for the day it was still really busy. As is understandable, people congregate around Gustav Klimts 'the kiss'. This means it is hard to enjoy that painting in peace. Is timed entry slots and you need to book in advance. Under 19s get entry for free.

The Kiss is an...
The Kiss is an exceptional piece of work and truly worth seeing in person. Pictures, while good, can't do it justice. So, visiting the Belvedere Palace was definitely worth the time and money. Seeing Klimpt's other piece have me a new perspective. Additionally, the palace itself and the grounds surrounding it were delightful.

Positive experience
The audio guide was very easy to use. It provided a lot of information. Printing or having your tickets on your phone simplified the entry. The art speaks for itself.

Confusing Delivery Method -but Belvedere was great
Ticket delivery will be on WhatsApp from a third party you may not recognize. Took a little bit to figure out that what I thought was a scam message on Whats App was actually my tickets and a brief exchange with the third party ticket supplier I got the tickets just in time.

Why this scores 45
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets cost?
+
Prices start at $38 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.2/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
