Great taco/mezcal tour through Polanco

We had a wonderful & insightful taco & mezcal tour experience with Viry. Wondering through the beautiful neighborhood of Polanco, Viry shared interesting culinary stories as we sampled tacos from four different taquerias. The mezcal tasting was equally informative & fun. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour and tour guide to others.

Response from the operator: Polanco is such a beautiful neighborhood to explore, and we’re so glad you enjoyed wandering its streets while discovering the stories behind the tacos and the local culinary traditions. Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful time.

A Must-Do Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco!

If you’re visiting Mexico City and want to dive into the rich flavors of authentic tacos and artisanal mezcal, this tour in Polanco is absolutely essential. From start to finish, it was a fun, flavorful, and cultural deep-dive that exceeded all expectations. We visited several taco spots — each with its own specialty, from juicy al pastor, tender barbacoa, to tasty suadero. Our guide Viry was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the food and drinks but also about the history of Mexican cuisine and mezcal production. The mezcal tastings were equally memorable — smooth, smoky, and expertly explained. We learned about different agave types, production techniques, and how to actually sip and appreciate mezcal (not shoot it!). Highly recommend for foodies, culture lovers, and anyone looking for a local experience off the usual tourist track. Come hungry and ready to sip!

Exceptional tour!

This was a super fun, delicious, and educational tour. Viry is an exceptional guide with a deep knowledge of the foods and beverages of Mexico. The taco stops were all great in their own way and the Polanco neighborhood is a treat to walk around. There was the perfect amount of walking- not too much but enough to have a little time between stops. And the mezcal tasting was also very informative. We loved every bit of the tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience! We loved to hear that you had such a fun and informative time on the tour. It’s great to know that you enjoyed the taco stops, the walk around Polanco, and the mezcal tasting. We hope the memories of this tour stay with you, and we’d love to welcome you on another adventure in the future!

Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream!: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream! cost?

+

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream! take?

+

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream! worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream!?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream! suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream!?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ultimate Taco & Mezcal Experience in Polanco – A Foodie’s Dream! start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
