This was an absolutely amazingly unique experience. It's great for all skills levels, wasn't scary or physically demanding. You've never done caves like this, you won't regret it!!

Loved every minute

I booked this tour because it combines two of my favourite things - kayaking and caves. It was amazing ! The kayaking was really easy. The water was crystal clear and beautiful. The guides were super knowledgeable and easy going. We enjoyed the 30 minute walk through the jungle chatting with them almost as much as we enjoyed the caves! Much of the kayaking was done within in the caves and it was really peaceful and quiet. Because we headed upstream before turning and heading downstream, we saw no other people for 3/4 of the journey. The short swim we had was delightful and the lunch was perfectly fresh and delicious. I don’t usually do the same excursion twice but I would do this one again. Myself, my husband and 2 kids (ages 13 and 16) all feel the same way. Loved every minute😊

The Best of the Best Kayak Adventure

Tubing is fun - but wait until you try kayaking! Steer your own vessel and turn 360 for incredible views From start to finish, the Ultimate Cave Kayak experience was exceptional. From top-notch communication, delicious food (Cave Burrito), a serene and mesmerizing river view, a historical and native plants history, followed by a trip through the caves on Kayak and a refreshing swim in the water near the end - there’s not enough words for me to fully detail all this trip encompassed. Francis was a historian, guide, chef (with mom’s help!), communicator, story-teller, connector, encourager and so much more. His sense of humor was refreshing. Alone, this trip would have been terrific. Having Francis as the guide made it 100 times better. His knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious and we can’t wait to bring our kids back to do this very tour. We have visited the several Mayan sites, caves, rivers, etc - this trip is like a combination of all of them. If you are short on time and can only do one adventure - this is it. It touches on a little bit of everything and the beauty of the river and natural environment is the icing on the cake.

Had an excellent adventure with Going Coastal!

We had a fantastic time with Going Coastal! Benjamin was very nice to work with ahead of time, planning out our day, then we spent the day with him, Marcus, and Hernan and they gave us a great experience! They were all so knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. The ruins are fascinating and fun to explore. The caves were so beautiful and our guides made us a wonderful lunch while we took a break from kayaking. All in all, a wonderful experience that I highly recommend. Thank you Going Coastal!

Fun experience with superb guides

Floating through underground caves is one of the top tours in Belize and you can find dozens of companies that do so with tubes. Far fewer use kayaks, which allow you to paddle upstream from the common entry points and escape some of the crowds. Going Coastal ran a very professional trip. Benjamin handled the paperwork and our guides were Marcos and Hernan. Our trip consisted of our family of four and a group of six and we both drove ourselves to the start (no special vehicle needed and very safe parking of our luggage-filled vehicle). The other group was delayed over a half-hour, so Marcos took the four of us for a more leisurely hike while Hernan waited for them. Marcos taught us about the flora and fauna of the jungle and my son tasted some termites. He spent some time in the dry caves along the way and taught us about bats in the area. Shortly after we reached the place where they put in the kayaks we were joined by the other group (who presumably made more of a bee-line during the hike). We paddled upstream a ways and stopped for lunch. It was a very nice meal of chicken burritos. On the way back we swam in a cenote and my kids enjoyed jumping down about 10 feet from the rocks. We also saw some examples of Mayan artifacts and learned about the sacrifices they did in the caves. After kayaking some more you exit the river very close to the parking lot. There are showers and changing rooms to switch into dry clothes. I can't say enough good things about our guides, who were knowledgeable, courteous, and very hard-working. Be sure to tip those guys!
