It’s crowded and there is a time restraint which makes it hard to really study the art if you are so inclined. However, our guide did a wonderful job explaining much of what we saw. It was worth it.

I simply cannot tolerate being lied to. Arriving at the meeting point to be advised our tour booking had been cancelled and we had been moved to a different tour at a later time was bad enough, but when challenged as to why we hadn’t been told, the tour operator said “we have updated Viator and sent you an email” which was an outright lie. When I showed them the app and my inbox on my phone they then backpedaled and fumbled for excuses. We took the later tour which meant changing our itinerary for the day and it was dreadful. What was originally a two hour tour turned into a one hour with a guide who took forever to get through a room and just kept repeating the same information. We strongly suggest you go elsewhere as there are plenty of better options.

Brilliant tour of a special place

We loved this guided tour of the museum. Our guide, Giulia was incredibly knowledgeable and made the museum come alive with her enthusiasm.

GREAT Tour with an Exceptional Tour Guide

On May 5, 2024 we took the guided tour of the Uifzzi Art Gallery. Unless you are an art expert, to really appreciate this fabulous museum, you need a great tour guide. Elizabeth Gurau, our tour guide, was AWESOME. Her knowledge of the paintings and the backstories behind them that she shared totally captivated all in our group. Her passion for the works of art she was showing us was readily evident. Over the past 5 years we have had many, many excellent tours in Europe with some great tour guides. Elizabeth Gurau was our BEST TOUR GUIDE ever: Knowledgeable, personable, caring, and very passionate about the great works of art. She always went the “extra mile”. Elizabeth is an absolute gem!

Probably not worth it

Tour booked for 3:45. Later Learned it is a bike tour plus Uffizi (never said that on the description). Agreed with Operator to meet at Uffizi at 4:00. Tour guide did not show until 4:15. Equipment did not work, so after 10 minutes headphones were abandoned. Guide was kind and knowledgeable, but voice was too soft to hear without headsets. Then we moved so quickly past so much, it felt like a rush. Between the late arrival —as 4:15pm was 30 minutes later than what we signed up for and 15 later than what we later agreed— and bad sound equipment, no replacements, soft voice made it a sad experience. My wife and I count on those headsets to be able to hear, so by the time it was over, we felt significantly shortchanged! Luckily, with our short free time before closing, we were able to find a few pieces we definitely wanted to see, so not a total loss.

Additionally, we encourage you to participate in the informative introduction to the city and Medici history provided by our guide before reaching the Galleria degli Uffizi. The gallery houses numerous masterpieces that benefit from an introduction. The slow walking tour from our office to the Uffizi allows for a comprehensive experience, but it may cause a slight delay, with the guide arriving approximately 15 minutes later. This delay can be attributed to traffic or the specific art details requested by customers on the tour. Please note that the Uffizi gallery tour is conducted on foot and not by bike, in line with the offerings of our company, Florence Tours Enjoy Biking.
