DO NOT BOOk with Vivicos Tours!

HORRIBLE experience with Vivicos Tours!! They changed the start time for the first part of the tour THE DAY BEFORE with no option to cancel. I am on a cruise ship and chose a specific time to account for travel from the port. We had NO GUIDE for the Roman Forum and Paletine Hill, which is 2/3 of the tour: They told me during the Colosseum tour that they don’t have a guide for us for the Vatican and Sistine Chapel so I missed most of the Colosseum tour messaging with them to try and sort it out. We had NO GUIDE for that either but they ended up giving us tickets for entry. When I requested a refund for this GUIDED TOUR that had no guide they refunded me $11.00!! I paid over $300 for the tour and the tickets were less than $100 for everything. DO NOT BOOK with Vivicos Tours!!

    The colosseum tour was...

The colosseum tour was ok. They moved the 3pm Vatican tour to 2 pm. It was very difficult to rush after the colosseum tour. The metro line A was closed that day and we missed it because they moved the 3pm Vatican tour to 2pm tour. Horribly planned tour because of logistics. They didn’t even allow us because we were 10mins late.

    Tour meet point disaster.

Let me start by saying that the review does not reflect the tour guides. Both guides were excellent. The review is about the tour package. The tour included two visits: the Colosseum and the Vatican Museum, which lasted about 5 to 6 hours. We met the first guide who completed the tour, and to oursurprise, I WAS UNAWARE I WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE AT MY SECOND TOUR ON MY OWN. I'm a tourist in an unfamiliar city. The guide was lovely and walked us to the tour office. We took a taxi and spent 40 euros to reach the second meeting point. After running around to get to the meeting point, the Tour company office does not have a guest restroom. A two-tour booking should start and end with the same guide.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, we are sorry you had a bad experience, but please let us clarify a couple of things. The transportation between the two sites is not listed in the inclusions of these tour. We are sorry this caused you issues, but it was never indicated that you would've received private transportation between the two sites. Our meeting point for the Colosseum is in a square and, therefore, we can't have a guest bathroom, but you can find plenty inside the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Even if you made a two-tours booking, you still booked two separate group tours. In these cases is highly possible you are assigned two separate guides. In order to always have the same guide, it's necessary to book a private tour. Best regards, Laura.

    Not a good experience

Way too much time wasted on history lecture, rather than showing us the actual spots and helping with accurate tips Afternoon vesrion was such a torture that we flat out asked the tour person to end it asap and relieve us so we can explore on our own Also English guide means a guide that knows fluent English, not broken and confusing English.

Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Two in One - Colosseum and Vatican Museums Group Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

    +

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

    +

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
