Do You Spain and OK Mobility car hire Scam.

I booked a 2 week car hire for my trip to mainland Spain for pick up at Murcia airport on arrival 24 Jul - 07 Aug 2026. I found Do You Spain to be around the cheapest for my needs and made the booking online, including taking out their platinum cover to avoid any expensive bills in the event of an accident. The total cost was 402.79 euros plus a fee of 100 euros to be paid on dropping the car off at Alicante airport. Initially I wasn't aware that Do You Spain was merely a broker and that the car had to be collected from the OK Mobility car hire office in Murcia which was when the fun started. We arrived on time and made our way to the Ok Mobility office to collect the car as arranged however, the office was closed. After waiting around 20 minutes in the sweltering heat with my family, I managed to speak to one of workers who told me that they had a second smaller office at the far end of the rental car park and that I should try there. I made my way over and thankfully found their Agent who was highly stressed and explained that she was trying to manage both offices on her own. We made out way back to the main office and I should her my booking details only to be told that the Platinum insurance with Do You Spain was not recognized by Ok Mobility and that even a flat Tyre could cost me 600 euros for a call out. They explained that I would also have to leave a deposit of almost 2000 euros which would be blocked for up to a month unless I took out the car hire with them instead including full cover for 688 euros. I decided to call Do You Spain for some help as I wasn't made aware of this at time. upon finally getting through, both agents spoke on the phone including sharing some sort of joke about the situation and ended the call without me getting to speak again. I was told that I would get reimbursed by Do You Spain as long as I took out the full cover through Ok Mobility. Reluctantly, after nearly 90 minutes since our arrival, I agreed to pay the 688 euros plus 150 euros fuel deposit and collect the car. Unfortunately. they didn't have a manual version of the car I booked so I had to take an alternative model which was in a poor state of repair. The Agent told us not to worry about checking it as we already paid the full cover and wouldn't get charged. My wife and I took several photos anyway, including the perished rear wiper which would have failed an ITV in Spain. Upon returning home, I have contacted both companies to try and get a refund for paying twice however. I only received the insurance payment of 90 euros back from Do You Spain as my contract payment was non refundable which Ok Mobility obviously knew about during the phone call.at the office. It took me nearly 2 months to receive my fuel deposit of 150 euros back on my card from Ok Mobility. So I ended up paying almost 1000 euros for the 2 week car hire when I could have used taxi's for a lot cheaper and less stress. I have rented hire cars for over 50 years now and never encountered such a scam by both these parties who knowingly extort money from the client prior to and upon collection of the vehicle. Do You Spain will certainly 'Do You' and be warned and steer clear of OK Mobility at all costs.

Best tour!

Papa Bear was the best! We had such a wonderful time and experience. His knowledge, sense of humor and attitude was awesome! He took all the pictures of us and gave us the best tips of where to take them too! Absolutely wonderful experience worth every penny. Must do in Barcelona!

Great trip to Collioure and Girona

We had a great time traveling to Collioure and Girona. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable and made the day great!

Liars!!! Denied access because I had an infant with me. An infant on the reservation.

We were not able to get on the tour the driver looked at my tickets and daid we were not on his tour. I made reservation on July for 3 adults and an infant. The driver repeatedly said I was not on his tour. Were I contacted the tour company on the viator app, there was no response. When the company was contacted by viator they, the tour company told viator that they had left. Three individuals got on the tour and they were allowed access my family and I were not. Although a reservation for us was booked and it was valid. I asked for a refund and I was told they had to review because I did not show up. I was there for over 50 minutes, 30 before and 20 after trying to figure out what was wrong with the reservations. Still have not received word on my refund. If you are traveling with an infant, I would not book with this company.

Response from the operator: We believe this wording is completely inappropriate and does not accurately reflect what happened. The issue was caused by a synchronization failure between Viator and our channel manager, FareHarbor. The reservation made by the customer was not synchronized correctly and, as a result, was never received or internally accepted by our system. Therefore, the booking did not appear in FareHarbor when the guide checked the reservations on the day of the tour. The guide, who was using FareHarbor to verify the bookings, informed the customer that her reservation was not showing in the system. This was factually correct. Nobody from our company provided false information or deliberately denied a valid reservation. The problem was a technical synchronization failure, not an attempt to mislead the customer. We also understand that the situation was frustrating for the customer. However, describing our team as “liars” is inaccurate, unfair, and damaging to our reputation, especially when the issue resulted from a technical error outside the guide’s control. We would also like to confirm that the customer has now been fully refunded. In light of these circumstances, we kindly ask Viator to review the case and consider removing the review, as it contains an offensive and misleading accusation that does not reflect the facts of the situation.
