Carlos Moo is the Best! Incredible 5-Star Family Tour with Ekinox
Wow! What a wonderful trip with Ekinox Tours. Carlos Moo was our guide for a family of 6 covering Tulum, local cenotes, and Playa del Carmen. The coach bus was well air-conditioned, comfortable, and super clean. Both our guide and driver were remarkably personable, fun, and extremely knowledgeable—sharing fantastic historical insights and fun facts throughout the day. We were the only family on board with kids (4 in fact!), and Carlos made sure they were completely engaged and entertained. They absolutely loved the experience and are already looking forward to coming back next October. All three stops were unique, varied, and well-paced. While I booked directly through our hotel this time, I will definitely book directly with Ekinox Tours in the future. I highly recommend Carlos Moo without hesitation—you will not be disappointed!

A superb tour with a brilliant guide
Highly recommend this tour. Tulum on its own is well worth the visit, but the cenotes (and hospitality of the locals) was magnificant. We were very well fed at lunch and had plenty of time to explore on our own. One of the most enjoyable days of our holiday.

Viva Mexico
It was a very good experience especially with my mom’s first time in Mexico. Carlos Moo was very knowledgeable and took care of everything from meet-up location, things to do and places to eat. We would love to have him again as a tour guide when we come back.
Response from the operator: It’s wonderful to hear that your mom’s first visit to Mexico included such a good experience. Thank you for recognizing Carlos Moo’s knowledge and the care he took with the meeting arrangements, activities, and places to eat. We’d be happy to welcome you both back on a future visit.

Amazing Experience & Guide
Amazing experience, the ruins at Tulum are gorgeous, swimming at the cenotes was incredible, and there is a full buffet of Mexican food. The guide Freddy and the driver Charlie were both excellent. Freddy was very fun, engaging and knowledgeable. As with many tours in Cancun, there is a $40USD / $700MXN additional fee to cover tourist taxes and admission fees
Response from the operator: We’re so pleased you enjoyed Tulum, the cenotes and the Mexican buffet. Thank you for recognising Freddy’s engaging explanations and Charlie’s work behind the wheel. As you mention, mandatory local fees are separate from the base tour price; these are detailed in the booking conditions and cover the applicable admission fees and local charges along the itinerary.

Sun up to Sundown: A Breathtaking look into Mayan culture
Carlos Moo was our tour guide and he was incredible. He presented a deep and rich picture of the Mayan culture which provided a powerful framing for our visit to Tulum, or Tul-uum as Carlos would say it. He also conveyed his personal experience to us with pictures and storytelling. He even spoke with a blend of Spanish and English to ensure that no detail of what he said was missed. The tours were extremely organized and Carlos explained everything to us so that appropriate expectations were set for timing, and for how local vendors might react to our presence. Tulum is hard to explain. Go see it. It is nothing short of spectacular. As for price, everything was included and provided by our travel guide, Nexus, and the tour company Ekinox. At 150 USD per person, you couldn’t ask for a better price. We had intimate opportunities to connect with local Mayans at Chen Ha, tasted fresh cacao, tequila, and local cuisine that was prepared fresh - it has exquisite flavour. Most importantly, we had time to swim in Chen Ha and the other cenote as well. Highly recommend this experience. Their gift shop was beautiful and the quality of the stone artifacts is hard to articulate. Finally, we capped off with free time in Playa Del Carmen. We had our chance to buy from local vendors, dine at Restaurants, swim at the public beach, or find entertainment like music on 5th street. The tour concluded early too. From sun-up to sundown, taking a tour with Carlos Moo from Ekinox will easily be the highlight of your time in the Mayan Riviera. You will leave with a deeper understanding of Mayan culture and most importantly, create memories that you won’t soon forget. 5 stars.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Scott, for sharing such a detailed account of your day. It’s wonderful to hear how Carlos Moo’s stories, knowledge and explanations in both languages gave greater meaning to your visit to Tulum. We’re also glad you enjoyed the local flavours, the time in Chen Ha and the other cenote, and the freedom to explore Playa del Carmen. Your comments about the organisation and clear expectations are especially appreciated. We’re happy the experience arranged through Nexus left you with such memorable moments and a deeper connection to Mayan culture.
