A Fabulous afternoons trip.
We were taken by our lovely guide Gay first to the Tsunami Museum which was my favourite part of the trip. Onto a Temple and finally to a Sunday Street Market to sample their wares. A great way to spend 4 hours.

Amazing Tour with an Excellent Guide!
Wonderful Tour with an Energetic and Knowledgeable Guide! We had a fantastic tour guided by Gay, a very energetic and engaging guide. She truly knows what she’s talking about and shares her insights from a personal perspective, which makes the experience even more authentic. She creates a great group dynamic and makes sure every participant feels involved. At the old market, we got to taste various local products, each time accompanied by clear and interesting explanations. During the temple visit, she provided excellent and insightful commentary. We were picked up right on time in a luxurious minibus and were well taken care of with drinks and refreshing towels throughout the tour. The booking process was smooth, and communication with Khaolak Planner was excellent. Everyone in our group agreed: this was a truly special experience. Highly recommended!

Amazing!
The tour was fantastic! First of all, the communication was excellent and we received a warm welcome. The guide (Gay) was very enthusiastic and could tell us everything, making her a real asset to the tour. Besides providing information about the three locations, she was also very informative and created a great atmosphere. The market was also fantastic. It wasn't a touristy market with just the same old magnet shops and jars, but a truly traditional market with a lively atmosphere. I highly recommend this tour!

Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Khao Lak.
How much does Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market cost?
+
Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Khao Lak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Khao Lak is not rushed.
Is Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Khao Lak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Khao Lak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Khao Lak and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tsunami Museum + Temple + Old Town + Street Food Market start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Khao Lak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Khao Lak?
+
On Outty we rank every Khao Lak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Thai Cooking Class in Khao Lak by Amazon Prime Series Chef, Riverside Thai Cooking Half Day Class, Riverside Thai Cooking Class in Khao Lak with Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Khao Lak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Khao Lak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
