    Great beginner dive

My wife and I were looking for a place to dive during a 7 day cruise and found this during one of our stops in Split. Alina and Vladimir were both great from start to finish. Vladimir was our instructor for the day and he made sure we felt comfortable in the water. We went in from the shore and had the opportunity to see some local sea life during our dive. Vladimir was an excellent instructor and was very knowledgeable about diving and the local area. If you're looking to try scuba in Split, I highly recommend booking here! Thank you again for a memorable trip!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Anthony! Vladimir and Alina will be delighted to read this. Making beginners feel safe and relaxed on their first breaths underwater is what we love most about our Try Scuba Diving sessions in Split. Next time you're in Croatia, come back for a boat dive or your Open Water certification and we'd be happy to have you both again. Safe travels! — The Open Water Croatia Team

A great introduction to scuba diving

I booked this without prior scuba diving experience. It was a great opportunity to try it out. After a careful discussion about the medical, theoretical, and practical aspects of diving (and about underwater sign communication), we dived from the shore to a rock nearby and observed plants and creatures we came across in up to 4m deep water. All went smoothly. Advanced activities are on offer too if you're qualified.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the detailed review! You've described our Try Scuba Diving session exactly as we intend it: a proper briefing on medical requirements, theory and hand signals first, then a relaxed shore entry with plenty of time to actually look at what lives down there. Diving should never feel rushed. You're right that there's more on offer, as from guided boat dives on our reefs and wrecks to the full PADI Open Water course, which starts right where your first dive ended. If anything would have made your day even better, we'd genuinely like to hear it. Hope to see you back in Split! — The Open Water Croatia Team

    Fist time in the Adriatic

It was the first time my daughter and I went scuba diving in the Adriatic. It is quite different from the Caribbean as the water is quieter but just as crystal clear and blue. We did a shore dive to around 20 feet in depth. The interesting thing is you can still find and hold pieces of ancient dishes brought there by the Greeks 1,500 years ago. The instructor and his assistant are very knowledgeable PADI-certified instructors. They are very friendly, attentive to detail, and speak perfect English. I hadn't dived for 2 years and needed a refresher lesson. The details they gave me were so insightful and in-depth that I hadn't previously heard them from other scuba instructors. The equipment was all new and perfectly sized. If you're into scuba diving, don't miss this opportunity. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a detailed review, and sorry for the delayed reply! A first Adriatic dive together with your daughter is a special one and yes, the water here is calm, clear and full of history. We always encourage guests to admire the ancient fragments and leave them in place; Croatia's underwater heritage is protected, and that's what keeps these sites worth diving. Glad the refresher and the equipment lived up to your experience. Next time in Split, come out on a boat dive with us, there's a lot more to see beyond the shore. Highly appreciated, thank you! — The Open Water Croatia Team

    Wonderful experience

Great experience all round. Vladimir’s instructions on the technical aspects were very clear and to-the-point. Although it was my first time I felt very much at ease and enjoyed immensely and left wanting more! Really appreciated Vladimir taking very nice pictures and videos underwater as well. Huge thanks to Vladimir, Alina and their lovely little helper Luna for making it such a lovely experience. Best of luck!

Response from the operator: So happy you enjoyed the experience! It was lovely meeting you, and hope to meet again in the future. Thank you🤗

Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners cost?

    +

Prices start at $143 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Try Scuba Diving in Split: Small-Group Experience for Beginners start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
