    Best day ever

If you want to do something that brings the love of dogs, people and food together in a most incredible and inspiring way then I recommend these guys. Felix and Secil are so down to earth and pleasant to be with. Every aspect of our adventure was a 10 out of 10. Hunting, driving around, laughing, eating great food etc. We left feeling like we just met our two long lost brother and sister. So cool

Response from the operator: Awww ❤️ We feel exactly the same! We had such a wonderful time with you and truly enjoyed every moment together. Thank you for being so easygoing, warm, and such fantastic company. It honestly felt like spending time with old friends rather than meeting for the first time. We’re so happy you enjoyed the adventure as much as we did. We hope our paths cross again someday! ❤️🐾🍄

Good food, limited hands-on truffle hunting

The truffle tour was a unique way to experience Piedmont, but overpriced for what was delivered. The owners were kind, though it was clear the priority was collecting truffles for their own business. Once the dogs found one, the owners quickly pocketed it with little explanation or chance to see, smell, or learn about it, so it often felt like tagging along rather than participating. The lunch was the highlight, a wonderful traditional Piedmontese meal featuring some of the truffles we'd collected. Frequent smoke breaks throughout the tour also added to the impression that the owners were more focused on themselves than on the guest experience. Interesting overall, but not worth the price.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations, and we were very saddened to read your review. This was an exceptionally hot and challenging season, and unfortunately there were far fewer truffles available than usual. Despite this, we spent the entire day visiting several different areas and making every effort to find enough truffles to share with you at lunch. In fact, every truffle we found that day was kept specifically so that you could enjoy it with your traditional Piedmontese meal. There were no additional truffles that we found and kept for ourselves rather than serving to you. We would also like to clarify that the breaks during the hunt were primarily to give our dogs water and allow them to rest and recover from the heat. Their health and wellbeing are extremely important to us, and we would never compromise that for the sake of finding more truffles. We are particularly sorry that you felt you were merely tagging along. Our intention is always for guests to participate, learn about truffles and enjoy the experience alongside us and our dogs. This is the first time we have received feedback suggesting that our priority was ourselves rather than our guests, so your comments were especially disappointing to us. We are glad, however, that you enjoyed the traditional Piedmontese lunch. We sincerely wish you had left with the same positive feelings about the truffle hunt itself, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.

    Truffle love

This was such a memorable, beautiful experience for us. We have a Lagotto at home in the US and it was fabulous to see his brethren doing what they are all meant to do, with the loving guidance of some of the most interesting and kind people we have stumbled upon. We also went to a lovely local winery for lunch, which surpassed my expectations and was a wonderful experience as well. What a way to connect with the culture and beauty of Torino. Other people we told we were going truffle hunting led us to believe that our hunting might be a flop because it isn’t the standard season, but it wasn’t at all, and we got to enjoy some of the truffles we helped them and the dogs find (Secil and Felix allowed us to feel part of the hunt and discovery even if we really would have a lot to learn!!). Thank you, Secil and Felix, we wish you every happiness and hope you can continue your fabulous work giving people like us a little chance to enjoy your world.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful review. Your words truly touched us, and it was such a pleasure to spend the day with you both. Knowing that you have a Lagotto at home made it especially wonderful to share the experience of watching our dogs do what they love and were born to do. Our dogs are such an important part of our lives and of this experience, so it means a lot to us that you enjoyed seeing their work and the special bond between the dogs and their truffle hunters. We are also so happy that you enjoyed the winery and the traditional lunch, and most of all that you felt part of the hunt and discovery. That is exactly what we hope to give our guests, not simply to watch a truffle hunt, but to share a little piece of our world, our dogs, our food and our love for Piedmont. It was truly a pleasure having you with us. Thank you for your kindness, your curiosity and for appreciating what we do. We wish you both every happiness as well, and perhaps one day we will meet again in the woods, with your Lagotto too!

    Excellent Experience

Felix and Secil were very warm and personable and clearly enjoyed sharing their knowledge about all aspects of truffles and where to find them. It was amazing watching their two dogs work and find numerous truffles and fun to join in the search as well. We enjoyed the truffles as a part of the delicious lunch to finish the day. Wonderful hosts, beautiful nature experience. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure having you with us and sharing our passion for truffles, our dogs and the beautiful Piedmontese countryside. We are so happy that you enjoyed being part of the search and watching the dogs work. For us, the most rewarding part is seeing our guests become curious and excited as they discover how much there is behind every truffle we find. And of course, ending the day with a delicious traditional lunch and enjoying the truffles we found together makes the experience even more special. Thank you for your kind words and for recommending us. We hope to see you again one day for another adventure in the woods!

Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Turin.

How much does Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria cost?

    +

Prices start at $183 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Turin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Turin is not rushed.

Is Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Turin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Turin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Turin and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Truffle Hunting and Lunch in Piedmont Trattoria start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Turin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Turin?

    +

On Outty we rank every Turin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Turin: Small-group Walking Tour of Top City Highlights, StreetFood D’Luxe Experience — Tastes of Turin, Turin Gourmet Tour: A Premium Tasting Experience by Do Eat Better. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Turin?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Turin?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
